SUMMARY:Advanced Basin Analysis Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis advanced case-study led course is designed to teach participants a process for rapidly screening frontier\nbasin opportunities with minimal data\, with case studies from across the world\, including many African\, Atlantic and South-East Asian Basins. \nThree day modules cover the essentials of basin classification and tectonostratigraphic analysis\, the prediction of\npetroleum system elements (reservoir\, source rocks and seals) and the presentation of a workflow with which the\nprospects of a basin can be rapidly assessed. The most recent world’s frontier discoveries are reviewed in their\nbasin context and key elements are recognised that will identify the frontier discoveries of the future. \nThe lectures are interspersed with numerous case studies analysing the regional controls on the main global\ndiscoveries of the last decade\, some of which will be run as group discussions and guided exercises. This will\nexpand the participants’ knowledge bank of key analogues that can be used to identify and risk new plays in their\nown regions of interest. \nWho Should Attend\nGeologists and geophysicists or exploration managers that are involved in the assessment of new exploration\nopportunities and new country entry\, particularly if working on rifts and or passive margins. The course contents are\non intermediate/advanced level and a basic knowledge of petroleum geology and in particular of petroleum systems is required. \nPotential attendees include: \n\nBasin Management & Analyst\nExploration & Development Department\nGeologists\nGeophysicists\nGeoscientists\nPetroleum Engineers\nReservoir Engineers\nDrilling Engineers\nRisk Management\nResearch & Development\nProject Support & Services\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nParticipants will learn how to rapidly differentiate prospective from non-prospective basins using series of key\ntools and techniques\, even in situations where they have limited data and knowledge.\nParticipants will learn how to rapidly compile many key diagrams within a workflow that synthesises the key tectonic and other basin-wide controls on prospectivity.\nThey will learn how to research and apply appropriate analogue basins to their individual areas of interest from around the world\nThey will acquire check-lists of the parameters which most frequently cause basins to succeed or fail\, that they will be able to use in data rooms and in the assessment of licence or farming blocks.\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Managing International EPC Contracts in Global Power Industry
DESCRIPTION:As the International Oil and Gas industry matures; competition has intensified as organisations seek different ways in which to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. One response to this has been to adopt a form of ‘risk transfer’ via outsourcing to make another party the ‘bearer’ of risk –i.e. appointing a contractor company that offers a ‘one-stop shop’ solution – to undertake the whole scope of a project by being the main contractor and subsequently managing the entire range of sub-contractor agreements to ensure that the deliverable in question is met in its entirety for the client/end-user. \nThese types of contract are often referred to as EPC (Engineering; Procurement and Construction contracts)\, whilst another common name for them is ‘Turnkey’ contracts. If the contract can be executed successfully\, the contractor stands to benefit\, whilst if there are problems and delays\, it is the contractor who may find themselves liable for bearing these costs. \nUnfortunately\, given the scale and scope of this species of commercial contract\, there is a great likelihood that most of the ambit of contractual misfortune in terms of breach; delay; quality issues; HSE compliance and local content issues (to name but a few) will manifest at some point during the project’s lifetime. This course will furnish delegates with a thorough understanding of the key components and their interactions of an EPC contract and will address issues relative to dispute resolution. Focus is on open dialogue and collective problem solving relative to case examples and class exercises. This course has been designed to provide an immersive\, value-adding experience to delegates who attend. \nOn completion of the course the participants will: \n\nBecome familiar with the importance of ‘scoping’ an EPC project correctly\nHave awareness of the key features and contractual provisions of an EPC contract\nHave a greater understanding of the dynamic nature of contractual provisions and some of the\nUnderstand how an EPC contract is structured\nGrasp the fundamentally important aspects of managing risk in an EPC contract\nKnow what to focus on for managing the commercial performance of an EPC contract\nBe aware of the vital importance of stakeholder mapping and identification\nUnderstand the importance of project change orders and how to efficiently manage change\nKnow how to structure and lead a high performance project team\nGrasp the importance of effectively managing the project supply chain and inventory functions\nGain relevant knowledge of arbitral proceedings and other dispute resolution methodologies such as mediation\n\nWho Should Attend\n\nContract personnel/managers/administrators\nProcurement departments\nIndividuals involved in managing project inventories\nIndividuals engaged within risk management\nTeam leaders\nAnyone else wanting to learn more about EPC contracts\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nBecome familiar with the importance of ‘scoping’ an EPC project correctly both from the client/end-user perspective and the contractor\nHave awareness of the key features and contractual provisions of an EPC contract\nHave a greater understanding of the dynamic nature of contractual provisions and some of the consequences that arise as a result of them within the commercial world\nUnderstand how an EPC contract is structured\nGrasp the fundamentally important aspects of managing risk in an EPC contract\nBecome familiar with key procurement aspects associated with EPC contracts and projects\nBe competent in supplier selection and evaluation\nKnow what to focus on for managing the commercial performance of an EPC contract\nUnderstand the importance of project change orders and how to efficiently manage change\nBe competent in managing critical interfaces in power projects such as access to grid; fuel specifications and the commissioning regime\nUnderstand the requirements and importance for EPC projects inefficiency of critical (long) lead items and their impacts\, both positive and potentially negative\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA
