SUMMARY:Contracts Law for Renewable Energy
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nAs the world moves ever closer towards the ‘net zero’ goal\, the demand for energy continues to increase globally. Rising populations and emerging economies all require energy\, yet the traditional hydrocarbon-based suppliers’ provision is in decline due to the continued evolution of alternative or renewable sources of energy. As RE continues to mature and contribute more to the world’s energy requirements\, so too must the legal regimes and regulations that underpin it. It becomes imperative to have an established framework and regulatory system to provide certainty; stability and structure for all concerned. The duty that we all have to protect and preserve the environment\, how RE is and will be incentivized – yet competition must remain on ‘a level playing field\,’ how pollution is to be controlled through mechanisms such as emissions trading – these are only a few of the areas in which legal certainty and consistency must be created and maintained. This renewable energy contracts training has been specifically designed to be an immersive experience for the delegates. Focus throughout is on open dialogue and problem solving through discussion of case studies that will address specific issues and complement the topics presented. \nWho Should Attend\n\nCommercial Managers\nContract Managers\nLegal Counsels\, Executives and Managers\nProfessionals related contracts\nAnyone interested in oil and gas contracts\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nGain an understanding of the key challenges and impacts of evolving renewable energy laws that are impacting and influencing both developed and developing countries on the quest for net zero\nBecome familiar with the key issues and problems regarding the establishment of infrastructure and what this means for the renewable energy supply chain.\nConsider the implications of some of the operational issues and legal underpinning of mechanisms such as ‘constraint payments’ and ‘carve out’ options within contracts.\nUnderstand how some governments incentivize the growth of renewable energy\nHave awareness of competition law and its ramifications for the renewable energy industry\nGain an insight into what ‘emission trading’ is and what this means for renewable energy\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Ms.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.-Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Phone*Email*\n \n Company*Current Location* \n \n \n AfghanistanAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaCôte d'IvoireDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaRéunionSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluTürkiyeUS Minor Outlying IslandsUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabweÅland Islands\n Country\n \n \n How many people are you looking at?1 - 2 Standard Rates3 - 5 Group Discount>10 In-House Training\, Huge Savings!Undecided\, need more informationThis is just an approximate number. SUMMARY:Petroleum Geology of Deepwater West and East Africa
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nThis Africa basin analysis training course are set at a moderate scientific level suitable for young geologists working on these regions. It is targeted at more advanced staff working on the specific countries listed. The aim is to deliver the regional picture controlling African frontier opportunities so that staffs from the companies attending gain a head start in evaluating specific opportunities such as licence rounds and farmout. Secondly\, the course will help companies focus on the opportunities most likely to succeed that are consistent with their own strategies and finances. \nWho Should Attend\nAll disciplines that interact with geologists and geophysicists. \n\nGeologists\nGeophysicists\nExploration Managers\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nParticipants will gain a regional overview of the main controls on the development of source\, reservoir\, trap and seal in deepwater areas around Africa.\nThis will include key controls exerted by the onshore tectonic history of the African continent\, such as those controlled the development of ‘source to sink’ reservoir factories.\nThis will include a review of known and speculative source rock occurrences n deepwater settings\, in addition to apparent relationships between source rock volumetrics\, effective migration and seal in stratigraphic settings.\nSpecific basins specified by the client will be addressed in greater detail\, namely Gabon\, Congo\, Senegal\, Mauritania\, Madagascar\, Mozambique\, Kenya and Tanzania.\nGiven recent disappointing well results in the region\, participants will learn a methodology to identify\, analyse and reduce risk in the most promising and effective petroleum system settings.\nThere will be particular emphasis on the thermal regime and how gas rather than oil opportunities can be identified.\nOptional fourth and fifth days can\, if the client wishes\, be arranged to transfer\, deliver and present the authors GIS database on the region and to extend the regions considered to the Eastern Mediterranean.\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Ms.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.-Name*\n \n SUMMARY:Source to Sink Systems Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nThis source to sink training course currently consists of 3-days sessions with roughly 25% theoretical lectures\, 25% case studies and 50% exercises\, a mixture that maximises the learning of key points and the online engagement of the delegates. It moves from sedimentological principles to study the influence of tectonics\, topography\, climate\, provenance and drainage on the ‘quartz factory’ that controls the formation of high-quality clastic reservoirs. Particular emphasis is given in the lectures\, case studies and exercises to the development of economic reservoir thicknesses and quality in deepwater settings. It is demonstrated that nearly all major deepwater clastic discoveries in recent years have a favourable ‘source to sink’ model to support them\, while most failures do not. Case studies and exercises are taken from around the world to demonstrate these points and the course is therefore relevant to those exploring clastic reservoirs in all regions. \nWho Should Attend\nGeologists and geophysicists or exploration managers that are involved in the assessment of new exploration opportunities and new country entry\, particularly if working on rifts and or passive margins. The basin analysis training course contents are on intermediate/advanced level and a basic knowledge of petroleum geology and in particular of petroleum systems is required. \nKey Learning Objectives\n\nLEARN the methodology to assess reservoir risk\, particularly in deepwater studies\, through the study of all elements of the system that erodes\, transports and deposits clastic reservoirs\nLEARN how to predict and interpret a paleodrainage system through a wide range of techniques and assess how sand-prone their system will be at different points in its history. Palaeodrainage systems can thus be ranked in terms of their likely ability to deliver thick sandstones into deepwater\nLEARN essentials of the regional ‘quartz factory’ approach to predicting reservoirs and how to integrate this with local data\, such as seismic attributes\, in order to more accurately predict reservoir risk\nUNDERSTAND the importance of the ‘source to sink’ approach as it is understood in a number of well-controlled analogue basins such as the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea and will be able to apply the learnings from these basins to the less well-controlled basins they are studying themselves\nENHANCE understanding of demonstrated scaling relationship between the size of drainage systems and those of fans\, which are particularly applicable to the screening of ultra-deepwater frontiers\, as featured in a number of recent licence rounds.\nThese learnings are applicable to ALL deepwater areas around the world\, though differences related to climate will be demonstrated by the global spread of the case studies.\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Ms.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.-Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Phone*Email*\n \n Company*Current Location* \n \n \n AfghanistanAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaCôte d'IvoireDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaRéunionSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluTürkiyeUS Minor Outlying IslandsUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabweÅland Islands\n Country\n \n \n How many people are you looking at?1 - 2 Standard Rates3 - 5 Group Discount>10 In-House Training\, Huge Savings!Undecided\, need more informationThis is just an approximate number. SUMMARY:Play Fairway Training: Play Fairway and Prospect Analysis
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nLearn what is increasingly becoming the standard methodology amongst major oil companies for screening basins and selecting blocks as well as to assemble and analyse a regional database in a systematic manner and then maintain the analysis as new data is acquired. This is an advanced level play fairway training course and participants would benefit from previous attendance at our Advanced Basin Analysis course\, though this is not vital. \nThis advanced practical play fairway training course teaches the essentials of play fairway common risk segment mapping a technique now routinely applied in the most successful oil companies to focus on opportunities most worthy of investment and most likely to deliver success. The early parts of the course focus on how to synthesize data on the key risks affecting exploration so that key observations and interpretations can be synthesized in the drawing of play fairway maps. The second\, more practical\, portion of the course includes exercises in drawing and integrating common risk segment maps\, all based on a real frontier licence round situation and on ‘cheap’ public domain data. \nThis is then fed through to a licence round recommendation and to a yet-to-find analysis. Participants may use their own companies colour schemes for play fairway analysis or may adopt a scheme used by the presenter. \nWho Should Attend\nGeologists and geophysicists or exploration managers that are involved in the assessment of new exploration opportunities and new country entry. This is an advanced level course and a basic knowledge of petroleum geology and in particular of petroleum systems is required. It would be helpful\, but not vital\, if participants have attended ‘Advanced Basin Analysis’\, a course that immediately precedes this one. \n\nGeologists\nGeophysicists\nGeoscientists\nExploration Managers\nExploration & Development Department\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nLearn how to rapidly synthesize a regional database into a suite of coloured ‘Common Risk Segment’ maps to use these to identify the regions and blocks of highest potential in any basin\nLearn how to save their companies millions of dollars in data acquisition costs by rapidly focusing on the most prospective parts of basins using public domain data.\nLearn how to deal with both risk and uncertainity and be able to cope with both good and poor datasets\nLearn a methology for rapidly screening acreage so as to respond to short term datelines such as license rounds\nLearn how to extend the play fairway analysis into a ‘yet to find’ analysis assessing the remaining reserves in any basin\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Ms.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.-Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Phone*Email*\n \n Company*Current Location* \n \n \n AfghanistanAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaCôte d'IvoireDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaRéunionSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluTürkiyeUS Minor Outlying IslandsUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabweÅland Islands\n Country\n \n \n How many people are you looking at?1 - 2 Standard Rates3 - 5 Group Discount>10 In-House Training\, Huge Savings!Undecided\, need more informationThis is just an approximate number. SUMMARY:Managing International EPC Contracts in Oil and Gas Industry
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nAs the International Oil and Gas industry matures; competition has intensified as organisations seek different ways in which to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. One response to this has been to adopt a form of ‘risk transfer’ via outsourcing to make another party the ‘bearer’ of risk –i.e. appointing a contractor company that offers a ‘one-stop shop’ solution – to undertake the whole scope of a project by being the main contractor and subsequently managing the entire range of sub-contractor agreements to ensure that the deliverable in question is met in its entirety for the client/end user. \nThese types of contract are often referred to as EPC (Engineering; Procurement and Construction contracts)\, whilst another common name for them is ‘Turnkey’ contracts. If the contract can be executed successfully\, the contractor stands to benefit\, whilst if there are problems and delays\, it is the contractor who may find themselves liable for bearing these costs. \nUnfortunately\, given the scale and scope of this species of commercial contract\, there is a great likelihood that most of the ambit of contractual misfortune in terms of breach; delay; quality issues; HSE compliance and local content issues (to name but a few) will manifest at some point during the project’s lifetime. This EPC contracts training course will furnish delegates with a thorough understanding of the key components and their interactions of an EPC contract and will address issues relative to dispute resolution. SUMMARY:Negotiation Tactics and Strategies for the International Oil & Gas Industry
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nThis is a 3-day oil and gas negotiation training course. The International Oil and Gas business is defined by a number of key variables along its value chain. Upstream the E&P segment is a high risk\, high investment endeavor\, subject to great uncertainty and long time periods relative to fiscal reward. Midstream storage and transportation is subject to high investment and operating costs\, whilst the downstream sector often requires colossal investment in terms of establishment of infrastructure and the ability to meet daily operating costs. The industry attracts close scrutiny from the global media\, and is subject to the involvement of multiple governments and their laws and regulations\, not only from a financial perspective such as taxation\, but also from other critical issues such as the cost of environmental compliance and health and safety. \nIt is against this background of high stakes with significant consequences for both success and failure\, that the importance of being highly efficient within commercial negotiations becomes of critical value. This oil and gas negotiation training will give the delegate an entirely new perspective of how to approach the negotiation process and be successful\, utilizing a powerful array of little\, (if known) techniques and proprietary templates. The course is an immersive experience combining open dialogue and problem solving throughout.
