SUMMARY:Petroleum Geology of the South and Central Atlantic
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nUnderstand the regional controls underpinning some of the world’s key frontier exploration provinces in the South and Central Atlantic. Save considerable time in your own researches in these regions. Learn how to assess the key factors controlling exploration success and failure in the region and in particular the complications involved in identifying pre-salt and turbidite plays. Acquire a methodology to assess opportunities through a petroleum systems ‘checklist’ approach\, with attention to key issues such as tectonic history\, heat flow\, reservoir quality and petroleum generation history.  \nWho Should Attend\nGeologists and geophysicists or exploration managers that are involved in the assessment of new exploration opportunities\, acreage and prospects in the Central or South Atlantic. This is an advanced level course and a basic knowledge of petroleum geology and in particular of petroleum systems is required. \n\nExploration & Development Department\nGeologists\nGeophysicists\nExploration Managers\nGeoscientists\nPetroleum Engineers\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nParticipants will be provided with the regional picture controlling prospectivity in pre-salt\, rift and post rift/salt plays\, enabling them to concentrate in their own work on local and prospect specific issues\nParticipants will learn how the tectonic and heat flow history of the region\, and in particular processes preceding and during continental break-up\, control the prospectivity of the South and Central Atlantic\nSpecific attention is given to the complex controls on pre-salt plays on both sides of the Atlantic. Participants will learn how to screen for both pre-salt clastic and carbonate plays and avoid regions with downgrading influences such as early high heat flow and gas generation.\nFor post-salt plays the key objective is to learn how to screen for thick effective reservoirs though the understanding of regional sediment/ reservoir supply and integrate this with seismic attribute analysis.\nParticipants will learn how to apply ‘dataroom checklists’ to rapidly assess opportunities presented to them in this region\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Geophysical Data Management For the Oil & Gas Sector
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nExploration and Production (E&P) companies realize the importance of good technical data and the role which it plays in the exploration success. Geoscientists and engineers focus on maximizing hydrocarbon extraction by understanding and exploiting field geological and formations data. To achieve their challenging goals\, they use sophisticated software to perform virtual field characterizations and analysis which generates terabytes of valuable intellectual data and information. This is one example\, and there are many more by which new data is being generated and stored each day. Companies are investing into hardware and software to tackle these problems but lack the basic guide lines or policies to manage the growing data volume. This has led to even more problems and waste of valuable resources and funds. One of the key requirements for E&P companies is to have a well-defined data management strategy.  \nWho Should Attend\n\nUpstream personnel\nIT\nAdmin\nHR\nNon-geoscience personnel\n*There are no technical prerequisites for this course besides having more than 3 years’ work experience and a higher education diploma\n\nKey Learning Points\n\nWhat is Data Management\, why it is important\, understanding of data as an asset\, its lifecycle\, benefits of good Data Management\, and its potential value\nThe core data types in the E&P industry and valuable best practices for them\nCommon Data Management issues and challenges\, and the impact on the business\nThe important components of a Data Management framework\nHow to map issues onto a Data Management framework\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n
