SUMMARY:Petroleum Geology of West Africa
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis well established and regarded course has been presented across the world\, most recently to Chevron and to the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. The objective of the course is to educate delegates in the regional controls on petroleum occurrence in West Africa\, such that they can then effectively concentrate their own resources in the regions of greatest prospectivity and in their acquired acreage. The course is presented in two parts\, the first concentrating on the tectonic\, climatic\, thermal and paleogeographic development of the region and the second on how these factors control the petroleum systems of individual basins\, including recent discoveries. Lectures are interspersed with discussions and exercises. The database on which much of the course is compiled is also provided in digital form. \n\nLearn how the regional tectonostratigraphic framework of West Africa controls patterns of exploration success and failure\n\nLearn what controls success and failure in pre-salt carbonate and post-salt turbidite plays\n\nUnderstand the significance of conjugate margin analogues\, e.g. Liza\n\nWho Should Attend\nGeologists and geophysicists or exploration managers that are involved in the assessment of new exploration opportunities\, acreage and prospects in the Central or South Atlantic. This is an advanced level course and a basic knowledge of petroleum geology and in particular of petroleum systems is required. \n\nExploration & Development Department\nGeologists\n\nGeophysicists\n\nExploration Managers\n\nGeoscientists\n\nPetroleum Engineers\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nAccess and understand databases on regional tectonics\, source to sink systems\, heat flow\, geothermal gradient (these will be delivered as a complimentary part of the course.)\nReview the results and significance of key recent wells\, e.g. Brulpadda\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Integrated Petrophysics for Carbonate and Fractured Reservoirs
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis course presents the Complete Carbonate & Fracture Evaluation Recipe for carbonate petrophysical characterisation\, from Quick Look log analysis to full Core-Log-Test integration. It is also a systematic plan of action for Carbonate Petrophysics\, from data acquisition to core\, log and well test integration\, highlighting the problems and explaining solutions. All data is ranked and located correctly in the workflow\, from drilling and LWD to well tests and the latest hi-tech logs. This recipe provides a definitive set of results and secure basis for decisions for the management of any carbonate or complex reservoir. The course explains how the physical characteristics of Carbonates – tight\, fractured\, vuggy or permeable – present log analysis Failure Points. How to Drill\, Core\, Log\, Test and evaluate specifically to address these failure points is explained via a condensed learning session of interleaved theory\, PetroDB-WEB demos\, workshops and videos. Drilling data\, core\, SCAL\, logs\, LithoScanner\, NMR\, Dielectric\, Sigma\, Acoustic\, Image-logs and MDTs are all briefly explained and fitted together to form the definitive solution for any given data set. The course’s powerful Excel Carbonate Petrophysics Toolbox includes all Workshops\, a detailed Sw cap.press:n calibration\, a vuggy Carbonate QL LAS evaluator\, 100+ Eqns\, PetroDB-WEB extracts\, QL Sigma\, HPV Sensitivities and calculators for Fracture Probability and Fracture Ø & HPV. \nWho Should Attend\nPetrophysicists. Geologists\, Operations Geologists\, Structural Geologists\, Geo-modellers\, Reservoir Engineers\, Well Test Engineers or Core Analysts who use or create petrophysical results for carbonate or “complex” reservoirs. Basic principles are reviewed; however a year’s experience information evaluation is desirable. \nKey Learning Objectives\n\nThe physical differences between Carbonates and Clastics and their data response implications.\nUnderstand why extreme pores\, vugs\, fractures and oil wetness occur in carbonates and how to recognize and treat them.\n\nCarbonate & Fracture petrophysical essentials. The Carbonates Failure Points which must be identified & healed.\n\nWhy fracture well tests can be misleading and what other critical data you must have?\n\nHow common errors impact results using PetroDB-WEB interactive demos?\n\nHow to acquire and integrate key drilling\, mudlog\, core\, special log and well test data?\nHow to do Quick Look Carbonate Log Analysis and integrate capillary pressures with logs in Excel\, PetroDB WEB\, IP and other software packs?\nHow to derive Reservoir Rock Type Equation Sets and apply them with modern logs?\n\nHow to do thorough\, integrated and robust evaluations in any complex\, conventional reservoir?\n\nHow end-users can critically review complex petrophysical results using the author’s Petrophysical Greenlists?\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n
