SUMMARY:Advanced Basin Analysis Africa
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis advanced case-study led course is designed to teach participants a process for rapidly screening frontier basin opportunities with minimal data\, with most case studies from African and Atlantic style rifts and passive margins.\nThree-day modules cover the essentials of basin classification and tectonostratigraphic analysis\, the prediction of petroleum system elements (reservoir\, source rocks and seals) and the presentation of a workflow with which the prospects of a basin can be rapidly assessed. The most recent world’s frontier discoveries are reviewed in their basin context and key elements are recognised that will identify the frontier discoveries of the future. The lectures are interspersed with numerous case studies analysing the regional controls on the main global discoveries of the last decade\, some of which will be run as group discussions and guided exercises. This will expand the participants’ knowledge bank of key analogues that can be used to identify and risk new plays in their own regions of interest. \nWho Should Attend\nGeologists and geophysicists or exploration managers that are involved in the assessment of new exploration opportunities and new country entry\, particularly if working on rifts and or passive margins such as Atlantic margin basins. The course contents are on intermediate/advanced level and basic knowledge of petroleum geology and in particular of petroleum systems is required.\n\nPotential attendees include:\n• Basin Management & Analyst\n• Exploration & Development Department\n• Geologists\n• Geophysicists\n• Geoscientists\n• Petroleum Engineers\n• Reservoir Engineers\n• Drilling Engineers\n• Risk Management\n• Research & Development\n• Project Support & Services \nKey Learning Objectives\n\nParticipants will learn how to rapidly differentiate prospective from non-prospective basins using a series of key tools and techniques\, even in situations where they have limited data and knowledge.\nParticipants will learn how to rapidly compile a number of key diagrams within a workflow that synthesises the key tectonic and other basin-wide controls on prospectivity.\nThey will particularly learn the essentials of working petroleum systems in Africa and in the Central and South Atlantic\nThey will acquire check-lists of the parameters which most frequently cause basins to succeed or fail\, that they will be able to use in data rooms and in the assessment of licence or farming blocks.\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Integrated Petrophysics for Carbonate & Fractured Reservoirs
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis course presents the Complete Carbonate & Fracture Evaluation Recipe for carbonate petrophysical characterisation\, from Quick Look log analysis to full Core-Log-Test integration. It is also a systematic plan of action for Carbonate Petrophysics\, from data acquisition to core\, log and well test integration\, highlighting the problems and explaining solutions. All data is ranked and located correctly in the workflow\, from drilling and LWD to well tests and the latest hi-tech logs. This recipe provides a definitive set of results and secure basis for decisions for the management of any carbonate or complex reservoir. The course explains how the physical characteristics of Carbonates – tight\, fractured\, vuggy or permeable – present log analysis Failure Points. How to Drill\, Core\, Log\, Test and evaluate specifically to address these failure points is explained via a condensed learning session of interleaved theory\, PetroDB-WEB demos\, workshops and videos. Drilling data\, core\, SCAL\, logs\, LithoScanner\, NMR\, Dielectric\, Sigma\, Acoustic\, Image-logs and MDTs are all briefly explained and fitted together to form the definitive solution for any given data set. The course’s powerful Excel Carbonate Petrophysics Toolbox includes all Workshops\, a detailed Sw cap.press:n calibration\, a vuggy Carbonate QL LAS evaluator\, 100+ Eqns\, PetroDB-WEB extracts\, QL Sigma\, HPV Sensitivities and calculators for Fracture Probability and Fracture Ø & HPV. \nWho Should Attend\nPetrophysicists. Geologists\, Operations Geologists\, Structural Geologists\, Geo-modellers\, Reservoir Engineers\, Well Test Engineers or Core Analysts who use or create petrophysical results for carbonate or “complex” reservoirs. Basic principles are reviewed; however\, a year’s experience information evaluation is desirable. \nKey Learning Objectives\n\nThe physical differences between Carbonates and Clastics and their data response implications.\nUnderstand why extreme pores\, vugs\, fractures and oil wetness occurs in carbonates and how to recognize and treat them.\n\nCarbonate & Fracture petrophysical essentials. The Carbonates Failure Points which must be identified & healed.\n\nWhy fracture well tests can be misleading and what other critical data you must-have?\n\nHow common errors impact results using PetroDB-WEB interactive demos?\n\nHow to acquire and integrate key drilling\, mudlog\, core\, special log and well test data?\nHow to do Quick Look Carbonate Log Analysis and integrate capillary pressures with logs in Excel\, PetroDB WEB\, IP and other software packs?\nHow to derive Reservoir Rock Type Equation Sets and apply them with modern logs?\n\nHow to do thorough\, integrated and robust evaluations in any complex\, conventional reservoir?\n\nHow end-users can critically review complex petrophysical results using the author’s Petrophysical Greenlists?\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n
