SUMMARY:Biomarkers and Isotopes Use in Geochemistry
DESCRIPTION:About this Training Course\nAttendees would be able to understand the definition and types of petroleum fluids as well as the various bio markers to take note of and the reasons for using biomarkers. They will also be able to understand the correlation of petroleum to source rocks which is the best way to find out which source rock our petroleum came from. There will be detailed explanations on the formation of petroleum fluids as well as the definitions for combustion and energy. \nThe participants will learn about basic geochemistry and basin modelling along with the prediction of different petroleum fluid types and geochemical interpretation as well as understanding the steps to build a basin model. Participants will be knowledgeable in petroleum fluids inside the earth and learn about the pressure caused by petroleum fluids in the well site. They will understand how to use geochemical data in exploration and production. The will be able to perform analysis on the formation pressure and thus understand about the problems of over pressure as well as how to predict it. There will also be a section about the pitfalls in petroleum exploration and fuel analysis to provide attendees with a holistic education with regards to source rocks. \nWho Should Attend\n• Exploration geologist \n• Geochemist \n• Geophysics professionals such as geophysics researchers \n• All geoscientist involved in Exploration and production \n*some knowledge of Geology is needed. \nEnquiry Form\n\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Petroleum Systems of the Mexican Gulf of Mexico
DESCRIPTION:About this Training Course\nThis course summarises the main petroleum systems of the Mexican Gulf of Mexico. It is based on Cambridge Carbonates Ltd. 50 man-years experience of working on play evaluation\, reservoir description and regional studies of Jurassic\, Cretaceous and Tertiary petroleum systems of Mexico. It emphasises the importance of the regional tectonic and palaeogeographical evolution of the area and how it differs from the USA side of the Gulf of Mexico. Emphasis is placed on Jurassic and Cretaceous carbonate reservoirs and petroleum systems since these contain the majority of Mexican reserves; however\, petroleum systems in the siliciclastic-dominated Tertiary stratigraphy will also be described. \nTopics and case histories covered include: \n• Plate tectonic reconstructions of the Gulf of Mexico. \n• Mesozoic and Tertiary reservoirs\, source rocks and petroleum systems. \n• Cretaceous fractured basinal carbonates. \n• Salt-carbonate interactions and implications for reservoir development in the Jurassic and Cretaceous. \n• Models for dolomitisation and diagenetic methodologies. \n• Workflows for evaluating Jurassic and Cretaceous play types and reservoirs. \n• Case histories of existing fields and discoveries including recent discoveries in the Mesozoic and Tertiary. \nWho Should Attend\nThis course is aimed at geoscientists involved in exploration and development of reservoirs in Mexico. \nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Advanced Basin Analysis Africa
DESCRIPTION:About this Training Course\nThis advanced case-study led course is designed to teach participants a process for rapidly screening frontier\nbasin opportunities with minimal data\, with case studies from across the world\, including many African and Atlantic  Basins. \nFour day modules cover the essentials of basin classification and tectonostratigraphic analysis\, the prediction of\npetroleum system elements (reservoir\, source rocks and seals) and the presentation of a workflow with which the\nprospects of a basin can be rapidly assessed. The most recent world’s frontier discoveries are reviewed in their\nbasin context and key elements are recognised that will identify the frontier discoveries of the future. \nThe lectures are interspersed with numerous case studies analysing the regional controls on the main global\ndiscoveries of the last decade\, some of which will be run as group discussions and guided exercises. This will\nexpand the participants’ knowledge bank of key analogues that can be used to identify and risk new plays in their\nown regions of interest. \nWho Should Attend\nGeologists and geophysicists or exploration managers that are involved in the assessment of new exploration\nopportunities and new country entry\, particularly if working on rifts and or passive margins. The course contents are\non intermediate/advanced level and a basic knowledge of petroleum geology and in particular of petroleum systems is required. \nPotential attendees include: \n\nBasin Management & Analyst\nExploration & Development Department\nGeologists\nGeophysicists\nGeoscientists\nPetroleum Engineers\nReservoir Engineers\nDrilling Engineers\nRisk Management\nResearch & Development\nProject Support & Services\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nParticipants will learn how to rapidly differentiate prospective from non-prospective basins using series of key\ntools and techniques\, even in situations where they have limited data and knowledge.\nParticipants will learn how to rapidly compile many key diagrams within a workflow that synthesises the key tectonic and other basin-wide controls on prospectivity.\nThey will learn how to research and apply appropriate analogue basins to their individual areas of interest from around the world\nThey will acquire check-lists of the parameters which most frequently cause basins to succeed or fail\, that they will be able to use in data rooms and in the assessment of license or farming blocks.\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA
