SUMMARY:Integrated Petrophysics for Reservoir Characterisation
DESCRIPTION:About this Training Course\nThis course will teach you how to evaluate reservoirs and quickly identify flawed results. Robust reserves and simulation are achieved by the logical\, systematic integration of all relevant data. A quality interpretation is extremely cost-effective compared with data acquisition or development mistakes and essential with today’s complex reservoirs and data sets. Proper integration replaces the need to run expensive\, irrelevant logs explains apparent data conflicts and provides the correct answer faster\, strengthening your position as an operator and competent petrophysicst. By contrast\, stand-alone log analysis often results in wrong decisions and weakens your position in the eyes of your business partners and colleagues. \nThis course\, evolved over 25 years of petrophysical consulting and training\, demonstrates how robust answers are achieved by the logical integration of diverse data. Pay and reserves are addressed first by Quick Look Log Analysis and then by a disciplined\, logical process to optimize the interpretation of Porosity\, Saturation\, Permeability and Fluid Contacts – the basis of Reserves. Low Contrast Pay\, clastics and carbonates are evaluated by straight forward integration techniques which outperform log analysis with direct\, plain to see results. The integration of Mudlogs\, LWD\, Wireline\, Facies / Rock Types\, SCAL\, NMR\, Dielectric\, MDTs and Well tests are explained via the author’s 28\,000 core plug PetroDB-WEB software. Finally\, the crucial Petrophysics to Geomodel checks is clearly set out. \nWho Should Attend\nPetrophysicists\, geologists\, operations geologists\, geo-modellers\, reservoir engineers\, geophysicists\, core analysts\nor anyone with a year’s experience with logs or formation evaluation. \nKey Learning Objectives\n\nThe essential nature of petrophysics: objectives\, data and uncertainties.\nTo get the best possible answers from any given data set.\n\nTo perform Quick Look Log Analysis and Essential Core-Log Integration with the author’s Excel spreadsheets.\n\nTo review petrophysical studies effectively and quickly identify flawed results using a clear sequence of logical checks.\n\nTo identify and extract the key data channels from modern hi-tech logs which when integrated with core\, logs and well tests\, will answer the questions your team is asking.\n\nTo identify and properly use what really matters in the increasingly complex barrage of modern petrophysical data.\n\nTo drill\, core\, log and test for clear formation evaluation results.\n\nTo avoid the 10 most common errors which ruin petrophysical results.\n\nTo use interactive software to reveal how your data can work together and impact results. \n\nEnquiry Form\n\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Petroleum Geology of Deepwater West and East Africa
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nThis Africa basin analysis training course are set at a moderate scientific level suitable for young geologists working on these regions. It is targeted at more advanced staff working on the specific countries listed. The aim is to deliver the regional picture controlling African frontier opportunities so that staffs from the companies attending gain a head start in evaluating specific opportunities such as licence rounds and farmout. Secondly\, the course will help companies focus on the opportunities most likely to succeed that are consistent with their own strategies and finances. \nWho Should Attend\nAll disciplines that interact with geologists and geophysicists. \n\nGeologists\nGeophysicists\nExploration Managers\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nParticipants will gain a regional overview of the main controls on the development of source\, reservoir\, trap and seal in deepwater areas around Africa.\nThis will include key controls exerted by the onshore tectonic history of the African continent\, such as those controlled the development of ‘source to sink’ reservoir factories.\nThis will include a review of known and speculative source rock occurrences n deepwater settings\, in addition to apparent relationships between source rock volumetrics\, effective migration and seal in stratigraphic settings.\nSpecific basins specified by the client will be addressed in greater detail\, namely Gabon\, Congo\, Senegal\, Mauritania\, Madagascar\, Mozambique\, Kenya and Tanzania.\nGiven recent disappointing well results in the region\, participants will learn a methodology to identify\, analyse and reduce risk in the most promising and effective petroleum system settings.\nThere will be particular emphasis on the thermal regime and how gas rather than oil opportunities can be identified.\nOptional fourth and fifth days can\, if the client wishes\, be arranged to transfer\, deliver and present the authors GIS database on the region and to extend the regions considered to the Eastern Mediterranean.\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Ms.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.-Name*\n \n SUMMARY:Understanding Sub-surface Pressures
DESCRIPTION:About this Training Course\nThis course is practical in nature\, revolving around the elements of pressure plots\, data to populate them (e.g. RFT/MDT and LOT/FIT) and their interpretation\, and an exploration of how to conduct useful pressure prediction/detection (both pore pressure and fracture pressure). The course covers topics such as the origin of abnormal pressures in the subsurface\, seal breach\, seal capacity\, hydrocarbon column height and hydrodynamic aquifers. There is a mixture of lectures\, discussion and exercises. Day Three will include sessions covering pore pressure issues as they relate to SE Asia geology\, and where drawing examples and case material from where the course participants come dominantly located. \nWho Should Attend\n\nGeologists\n\nGeophysicists\n\nPetrophysicists\n\nEngineers\n\nPersonnel preparing for future drilling\, but also for the ability to incorporate pressure data and concepts into operations and future exploration programmes. Appreciation of pressure prediction methods and their uncertainties pressures is also needed by management\, especially when the company operates in high-risk environments\, such as HPHT and Deep-Water.\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nTo explain the relevance of pressure interpretation in exploration/production/drilling\n\nTo offer insights into the relationship between pressure and subsurface geological conditions\, including mechanisms which create abnormal pressures\, and the role of lithology in maintaining and distributing excess pressure\n\nSummary of the challenges of high pressure sediments\, with particular reference to all types of tectonic environments including thrust belts\n\nLink throughout the course\, where relevant\, to subsurface challenges in SE Asia\, especially Malay Basin\, offshore north Borneo (Sarawak\, Brunei and Sabah)\, Mahakam Delta and Gulf of Thailand\n\nAbout Course Director\nProfessor Richard Swarbrick is currently an independent consultant\, based in Durham\, England. He has 10 years’ experience with Mobil Oil\, followed by 15 years teaching petroleum geology and researching subsurface pressures\, and for the past 10 years developed GeoPressure Technology/Ikon GeoPressure as a specialist company providing industry solutions to subsurface pressure challenges. \nRichard continues to be involved in university research and publishes on aspects of pressure generation\, seal capacity and pressure retention\, prediction methodology and hydrodynamic trapping. \n  \nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA
