SUMMARY:Sedimentary Rocks and Depositional Environments
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nThis is a sedimentary rocks training course. Sedimentary rocks and their depositional environments are fundamental to all aspects of petroleum geoscience\, including evaluation of the petroleum system\, exploration\, field appraisal\, reservoir characterisation and development\, and solving production issues. Equally\, they are fundamental to the study of stratigraphy\, mineral resources\, water resources and global environmental change. \nSediments deposited in rivers and deserts\, deltas and deep-sea fans\, coasts\, shelves and contourite drifts\, bioherms and carbonate platforms\, all differ significantly in their rock properties\, diagenetic character\, heterogeneity and architecture. Such differences are key to understanding their behaviour as source rocks\, migration pathways\, reservoir rocks and seals\, in both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon systems. \nThis sedimentary rocks training covers clastic\, carbonate\, evaporite and volcaniclastic sediments\, and the full range of settings in which they are deposited – including continental\, shallow marine and deepwater depositional environments. Careful consideration is given to the principal diagnostic features of sediments from the main environments – in the field\, in cores/bore-holes\, and in modern systems. Rock features include sedimentary structures\, textures\, composition\, petrophysical characteristics\, and biogenic/organic content. For each environment\, selected wireline logs will be examined\, and the overall rock geometry or architectural elements discussed. A series of case studies will illustrate a range of hydrocarbon fields and plays from each of the main depositional environments. \nThe presentations are fully illustrated with high quality colour images of sediments and sedimentary rocks from a wide range of modern\, ancient and subsurface examples. \nThe sedimentary rocks training will build on the handbook Sedimentary Rocks in the Field (Stow\, 2005) and the new edition in preparation\, Sedimentary Rocks in the Field and Core (Stow and Gerard\, 2021). Each participant will receive a copy of the latest revised edition of this book as well as a full set of the PowerPoint presentations. \nWho Should Attend\n\nGeologists\nGeophysicists\nPetroleum engineers\nProject and senior management.\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nUNDERSTAND the economic and environmental significance of sedimentary rocks\nAPPRECIATE the full range of sedimentary rocks and their key differences\nRECOGNISE the nature and origin of the principal sediment characteristics\nDISTINGUISH between types of sedimentary rocks – modern\, ancient and subsurface\nEVALUATE sediments in terms of the processes and environments of deposition\nASSESS and interpret facies associations\, sequences and architectural elements\nFOCUS on source\, reservoir and seal properties of different sediment types\nRESOLVE clearly and simply between different depositional environments in the subsurface\nGAIN an astute understanding of what questions to ask and what analyses to make\nBECOME a better 21st century sedimentologist\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Ms.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.-Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Phone*Email*\n \n Company*Current Location* \n \n \n AfghanistanAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaCôte d'IvoireDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaRéunionSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluTürkiyeUS Minor Outlying IslandsUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabweÅland Islands\n Country\n \n \n How many people are you looking at?1 - 2 Standard Rates3 - 5 Group Discount>10 In-House Training\, Huge Savings!Undecided\, need more informationThis is just an approximate number. SUMMARY:Gas Well Performance & Deliquification
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis gas well training course provides the skills to understand and analyze gas well performance\, and to select and design those remedial measures. It addresses all four gas well components i.e. reservoir performance\, inflow performance\, outflow performance and surface performance\, individually and combined. \nGas wells are the most uncertain and therefore critical component of any gas production system. The success of a gas project hinges on accurate forecasting of gas well production and the timely implementation of measures to restore\, sustain\, and enhance well capacity\, thereby maximizing reserves. \nIn depletion-drive gas reservoirs\, outflow performance of the gas well is inevitably affected as reservoir pressure declines\, leading to a gas rate that is insufficient to lift water and condensate to the surface. This condition\, known as liquid loading\, results in a significant loss of well capacity and reserves. The gas well training teaches participants how to recognize and predict liquid loading\, introduces techniques to mitigate it\, and provides instruction on selecting\, designing\, installing\, and operating a comprehensive suite of deliquification measures. \nThe gas well training is structured around a series of lectures and exercises. The lectures are interactive\, featuring field examples to illustrate models and concepts\, and encouraging participants to share their own relevant experiences. The exercises involve using Excel worksheets for model calculations\, with participants invited to apply their own field-specific well data. When arranged in advance\, PROSPER gas well performance software may also be used. \nThis gas well training also addresses methods for monitoring and managing gas well performance and deliquification\, covering the purpose\, outcomes\, and benefits of surveillance and capacity measures to aid in future planning. It specifically focuses on the selection and implementation of deliquification measures. \nOverall\, this gas well training provides the skills and tools necessary for the periodic review of gas well performance\, supporting critical business processes. \n\nOpus Kinetic is also a proud member of the Energy Institute in UK. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho Should Attend\nProduction engineer\, surveillance engineer\, completion engineer\, reservoir engineer\, production programmer\, production operator. \nKey Learning Objectives\n\nIntroduction (objectives\, units\, reservoir fluid properties).\nInflow SUMMARY:Geological Storage of CO2: Pick the Right Reservoir
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nGeological Storage of CO2\, specifically the geological sequestration of CO2\, is increasingly recognized as a key strategy for achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in the fight against global warming. In recent years\, the field has seen significant advancements. While many of the underlying technologies draw from oil and gas operations\, important distinctions exist that necessitate adapting the industry’s subsurface expertise to this new application. \nEvery CO2 storage project must answer four fundamental questions: \n\nWhere can CO2 be stored?\nHow much CO2 can be injected?\nCan it be stored safely?\nCan it be stored economically?\n\nThis CO2 geological storage training will explore these questions by leveraging established practices from the oil and gas sector and modifying traditional engineering design principles to meet the unique challenges of CO2 storage. \nWe are also a proud member of the Energy Institute of UK. \nWho Should Attend\n\nGeologist\nReservoir engineer\nPetroleum engineer\nProduction engineer\nCompletion engineer\nBusiness development manager\nAsset manager\nProject manager\nGovernment official\nAny other professional involved or interested in CCS\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nCurrent state-of the-art of research in the field of CCS; screening of CCS projects worldwide\nFundamentals of CCS\, its interdisciplinary connections and the ability to appraise the role of CCS more widely within the energy transition\nAssessing the storage volume capacity by investigating the combined effects of capillary pressure\, salinity\, and in-situ thermodynamic conditions on CO2-brine/reservoir fluid-rock interactions in a saline aquifer or depleted reservoir\nAddressing the potential CO2 leakage paths; mitigating the risk by optimising the injection strategy and well completion\nQuantifying the uncertainty with different realisations to scale geological properties\, major faults\, and their sealing capacity as well as rock compressibility\nMonitoring the geological storage of CO2\, types of monitoring technologies and techniques\, monitoring strategies\, results\, and modelling temporal responses accordingly\nIdentifying the uncertainties affecting the future field behaviour and reduce their impact by optimising the field performance through a systematic application of integrated reservoir management and multidisciplinary technologies\nThe impact of CCS on the energy landscape\, society\, and climate as these topics govern the success of the research that is being carried out to solve one of greatest challenges of our generation\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Ms.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.-Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Phone*Email*\n \n Company*Current Location* \n \n \n AfghanistanAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaCôte d'IvoireDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaRéunionSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluTürkiyeUS Minor Outlying IslandsUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabweÅland Islands\n Country\n \n \n How many people are you looking at?1 - 2 Standard Rates3 - 5 Group Discount>10 In-House Training\, Huge Savings!Undecided\, need more informationThis is just an approximate number. SUMMARY:Hydrogen and Carbon Capture & Storage Technology Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nCarbon capture and storage (CSS) is seen by many as a necessary transition technology whilst the world builds out the renewable energy system. And this is not limited to power generation.\nToday\, more than 95% of the world’s hydrogen is made from fossil fuels (coal and natural gas)\, so CCS can play a significant role in reducing the CO2 emissions related to this production. With the hydrogen sector expected to grow exponentially across the globe in the coming years\, it has become a necessary innovation. \nFor example\, the United Kingdom (UK) recently set a target to produce five gigawatts of hydrogen by 2030\, representing a 40-fold increase from the current situation. This ambition is replicated worldwide where national hydrogen strategies\, often explicitly citing the need for decarbonising industrial sectors such as construction\, steel and cement\, have appeared regularly\nover the past year. \nThe journey to a new\, low-emission energy system will be challenging and require much innovation. This momentum towards netzero continues to build\, calling for many industrial sectors to find ways of decarbonising their operations. Hydrogen is likely to play a significant role\, especially in sectors where eliminating emissions is particularly difficult. Early engagement with those low- or zero-emission projects will enable fast movers to reap the maximum from the opportunity presented. \nThis hydrogen CCS training course aims to provide a practical guide to enable companies to make informed decisions and plans based on the real opportunities that are emerging as the global CCS sector develops. Delegates will be guided to where early opportunities are most likely to lie\, who is involved and how to get in front of them. \nWho Should Attend\n\nExisting energy companies particularly those who are already part of the engineering\, oil and gas\, steel\, construction and shipbuilding oil and gas supply chain and those looking to future-proof their capabilities\nThe CCS clusters who well-placed to drive the regional industries forward\, often including a significant hydrogen\ncomponent\nThose with steelmaking\, shipping\, construction and automotive interests\nCompanies seeking to enter the CCS sector and wider hydrogen value chain with its myriad opportunities in a market\nvalued in the billions of dollars\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nWhat is carbon capture and storage (CSS)?\nCarbon capture by emission sources and fundamental approaches: pre- and post-combustion\, oxyfuel\, and industrial processes\nOverview of current technologies applied (how to remove the CO2 from process streams\, solvents\, amines)\nEvaluation of technologies: techno-commercial (including licensors)\nCost structure\, learning curves: challenges and opportunities\nCCS business models\, CO2 pricing and negative emissions\nCCS projects: overview\, discussion and deep dives into case studies\nH+CCS and other paths in the energy transition\nPolicy and regulatory perspectives: global initiatives and national nuances\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Ms.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.-Name*\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Phone*Email*\n \n Company*Current Location* \n \n \n AfghanistanAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaCôte d'IvoireDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaRéunionSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluTürkiyeUS Minor Outlying IslandsUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabweÅland Islands\n Country\n \n \n How many people are you looking at?1 -
