SUMMARY:Advanced Gas Lift System Production
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nGas lift is one of the most widely used artificial lift techniques. Participants will investigate the impact of tubing sizing\, gas lift valve selection\, gas lift mandrel spacing\, gas lift valve design\, casing pressure\, surface choke size\, gas volume\, etc.\, on well design and operation. Participants practice mandrel spacing design and gas lift valve design\, surveillance and optimization at the well and field level using actual field data including the use of software programs. After attending this course\, participants will be able to identify\, diagnose\, analyze and solve gas lift problems. Up to date computer programs will be used/demonstrated during the course. The class includes pictures and videos of most important equipment components while being applied\, to further participant understanding. With increased prices\, more emphasis is placed on techniques to maximize production. New developments at various stages of development and application are also covered. \nWho Should Attend\nProduction engineers and operations staff responsible for designing gas lift installations and/ or performing surveillance and optimization on wells using gas lift; appropriate for staff at all levels of gas lift expertise and has been given with good results to both production engineers new to gas lift as well as industry gas lift consultants \n\nKey Learning Points\n\nParticipants will learn how to select the appropriate gas lift systems and equipment\nDesign continuous-flow gas lift systems\nAnalyse operating gas lift systems Increase production from your wells using gas lift technology and optimization\nImprove the economics of gas lift operation\nUse principles and content mentioned below to focus on maximizing oil production with gas lift systems

SUMMARY:Intermediate Hydraulic Fracturing
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nImportant aspects of hydraulic fracturing will be discussed along with addressing the general process\, the terminology\, and many of the real-world problems— in a precise format. The overall emphasis is how hydraulic fracturing fits-in with\, is impacted by\, or impacts geologic concerns\, reservoir engineering\, and operations. It will provide a general familiarity with fundamentals of the complete hydraulic fracturing process. \n  \nWho Should Attend\nThe course is intended for engineering managers\, geologists\, geophysicists\, reservoir engineers desiring general information about the process\, and what it can do for them. It is also intended as a general review for petroleum engineers with knowledge or experience in fracturing\, but no current active involvement. \n\nKey Learning Points\n\nImpact of geologic environment\nMajor fracture variables such as creating the fracture you want\nCandidate Selection with discrete “candidate recognition” examples\nFracturing Materials\nConceptualise and construct hydraulic fracture by using 2D and 3D models

SUMMARY:Corrosion Management
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThe costs of corrosion are known to be significant. Whilst the global economy is recovering it is still crucial for oil and gas operators to extend the asset life-cycle to push back replacement investments. In order to do this safely\, whilst preventing unplanned shutdowns\, spills\, loss of income and production it is imperative to proactively monitor and address corrosion. Increasingly aging facilities operating in a harsh environment require advanced strategies to control and monitor corrosion. This masterclass will address advanced corrosion management strategies for upstream\, midstream and downstream operations. \n\nKey Learning Points Include:\n\nThe basics of corrosion management and control\nRoot causes of corrosion\nEffective monitoring and inspection techniques\nVarious methods of material deterioration caused by corrosion\nCommon types of corrosion in aging facilities\nWhy plant components fail and how corrosion control strategies can help prolong the life of the component and delay aging\nHow improper or incorrect control methods can result in faster aging\, resulting in early failure\nProlonging aging with periodic maintenance\nReviving aged structures and components through repairs\, including a fresh coating\, application of cathodic protection or a combination of both
