SUMMARY:Well Bore Diagnostic and Interventions
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nWell Bore Diagnostics is the single most important intervention method to monitor the reservoir behavior\, ensure optimum production levels and define the need to restore production from wells that seized production or suffer from reduced production levels as well as investigate the integrity of the pressure envelope of the well. \n\nThe Process\nWell Bore Diagnostics is of importance for maximum revenue of the well to assure optimum production levels and sustained integrity envelope. Using Well Bore Diagnostics methodology and based on its results being preemptive in well maintenance\, guarantee operating cost are kept low. Low Operating Cost will in turn improve Ultimate Recovery (UR) of the Reservoir. \nThe subsequent interventions\, resulting from the outcome of the Diagnostics are carried-out by the Well Services Team. These interventions can vary from simple slickline investigations to complex Coil Interventions even including work-over hoist entries. After such intervention the well shall be restored to optimum production level and/or pressure integrity envelop restored. \n  \nWorkshop Objectives:\n\nUnderstanding the different well-completion design options/well bore configuration and its advantages and disadvantages.\nImportance of designing for sustained well integrity\nIntegrity investigations in the well bore\, wellhead and associated equipment and the causes\nInvestigate and managing threats to well integrity issues\, like corrosion\, solids production\, water etc.\nTechnologies to investigate flow-distribution in the well with logging tools.\nReviewing flow impairment\, its causes and potential remedies and restore the well to its optimum production.\nRepair and reinstate loss of Well Integrity and eventually abandonment of the well.\n\nWho should Attend\nPersonnel directly responsible and or involved in Well Integrity; well and completion design engineers\, intervention engineers (Well Services and Service providers)\, Production Technologists and Production Engineers. \n  \nEndorsed By: \n\n    \n\nFor further information of this course\, please email to info@opuskinetic.com

SUMMARY:Advanced Formation Pressure Evaluation
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThe workshop is designed to present current state of the art approaches to formation pressure and earth stress evaluation up to and including HTHP wells. Subsurface non-productive time (NPT) currently accounts for some 10% of well costs. This course will provide the key tools to help to predict\, evaluate and mitigate subsurface risks to enable wells to be drilled much more cost effectively. As well as presentations a number of class exercises and case studies will be used to enhance learnings. Tim will pass on hints and tips from his long experience working with formation pressures. \n\nBenefits Of Attending\n\nEvaluate earth stresses and their relationship to pore and fracture pressures\nRecognise wellbore instability caused by anisotropic stress\nCalculate overburden pressures and their importance in pore and fracture pressure calculations\nCalculate fracture pressures and evaluate LOTs and FITs\nLearn the importance of recognising pore pressure generation mechanisms\nExamine the controls on pore pressure distribution post generation – understanding the centroid principle and hydrodynamics\nExecute pore pressure prediction using seismic and basin modelling\nUnderstand quantitative pore pressure calculation methods\nExplore the interpretation of key pore pressure and earth stress indicators – caving\, gas\, hole conditions etc\nUse and interpret direct pressure measurements\nHTHP and deepwater wells from the geologist’s perspective\nMitigation techniques for risks in well planning and execution of HTHP wells\nUse of managed pressure drilling (MPD) in HTHP\n\nWho Should Attend\nThe case is aimed at professionals involved in the planning and execution of wells where formation pressures are an issue. As this is an advanced course attendees will be assumed to have a working knowledge of rigs and drilling activities. \n\nOperations geologists\nWellsite geologists\nDrilling engineers\nRegional geologists\nSenior mudloggers\n\n  \nEndorsed By: \n\n     \n \n \n  \n\nFor further information of this course\, please email to info@opuskinetic.com
