SUMMARY:Operational Data and Information Management Practices
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nIn the oil and gas industry\, organizations must apply new technologies and processes that will capture and transform raw data into actionable insight to improve asset value and yield while enhancing safety and protecting the environment. The biggest challenge the industry faces is so-called “data democratization\,” or making the data available to decision-makers across several departments in a way that allows everyone to use it meaningfully. Often\, data is in silos and these are all closed-shell systems\, and not easily accessible. \nThe operational production group handles the information on how hydrocarbons are flowing through the well. Better data analysis could help oil and gas companies boost production by 6 to 8 percent. Improved use of data could result in better up-time. \nWho Should Attend\nThis course is designed for professionals whose role is linked to operational data management and include job titles such as: \n\nData managers\nData analysts\nData technicians\nDocument managers\nFacilities data managers and technicians\nEngineering records managers\nEnd users of operational\, facilities and engineering data\nAsset team data managers\nIndustry content providers\nTechnical assistants working with operational data\nData architects\nTechnical librarians for asset teams\nSurface data content managers\nOperational information managers\n\n\nKey Learning Points\n\nManage data as an asset with standard procedures\nLearn how an organization analyses and oversees maintenance of operational data information stores and solutions\nExamine how organizations apply quality management methods to assess\, improve and assure fitness for business use in operational data in accordance with industry and organizational business rules\nCommunicate operational aspects and value in a clear and timely manner to align with business strategy\nApply policies\, practices\, and procedures used in operational master data management and compliance\nExecute policies and processes for operational data security management\nUse coordinates and mapping to accurately represent the position of operational assets\n\n  \nEndorsed By: \n \n\nFor further information of this course\, please email to info@opuskinetic.com

SUMMARY:Behavioural Based Safety
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nAccidents are more often the result of workplace culture than any other factors combined. This course will help participants understand well-managed behaviour-based safety system that can improve the profitability and the organization’s operational efficiency. This program upholds above all else\, a “Safety-First” culture. This will be presented through various techniques in generating developing\, and maintaining a BBS management system that will be able to resolve risky behaviours. \nThe program will look at how many current risk management processes “set up” the workforce for failure\, and then the impact this environment has on the workforce culture and individuals behaviours. In a workshop-style training environment\, we identify the “bigger picture” regarding poor workplace morale and the impact it has on workplace operations and operational costs. Several case studies will be discussed in order to learn from past catastrophic incidents in the oil and gas industry. SUMMARY:Low Priced Oil and the New Energy Outlook
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nAll petrochemical producers will be impacted by low-priced oil\, low-priced naphtha and shale gas developments. Shale has caused Foreign Direct Investment flows to the Middle East and Asia to be re-directed to North America. Downstream plastic conversion investments\, for example\, originally destined for the Middle East have instead been located in the US. Will this stop?\nEach company will have a unique view of how it can exploit the potential of low-priced oil and shale gas to enhance its competitive position. Those without the means to access the strategic advantages of both will be driven to formulate fundamentally defensive strategies as global competition intensifies – not all will survive.   The course is designed to be participative and rich in information content. This allows delegates to draw from each others’ rich experience. \nProducers\, customers\, investors\, supply chain providers and government agencies will gain new insights and understanding in this concentrated 2-day programme. The Sage of Omaha\, Warren Buffet\, once said that “risk comes from not knowing what you’re doing”. A greater risk – arguably – comes from knowing what you’re doing but not knowing why you’re doing it. This course provides some of the answers. \nDelivery style \nYou will experience dynamic\, interesting and proactive sessions\, case studies and discussions that will include innovative concepts and practices\, useful practical examples of projects and cases from across each region. Clarion Training is focused on delivering practical and industry relevant training that will enhance your business and knowledge skills at a very real and tangible level. \nWho Should Attend\nThis programme is essential for all professionals working within\, and supplying to\, the oil\, gas and petrochemicals industry. It will form a crucial tool for ensuring they are aware\, and take advantage\, of the new opportunities presented globally by this dynamic sector. \n\nCommercial\, marketing and sales\nStrategists and planner\nGovernment officials\nEngineers\nBankers and equity fund managers\nLawyers and legal counsel\nFinance and HR personnel\n\nEndorsed by: \n \nFor further information of this course\, please email to info@opuskinetic.com

SUMMARY:PP\, PS\, SP\, and SS Seismic
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nConventional seismic data (marine data and vertical geophones for land data) is processed and interpreted as P-wave energy. However\, it is with the use of multi-component seismic\, with multi-component sources as well as multi-component receivers\, that the full (vector – ) wavefield will be recorded. Such datasets can then be used to extract\, with enhanced confidence\, P-wave and S-wave characteristics\, elastic constants\, and anisotropy attributes and be able to better discriminate lithologies and indicate the presence of hydrocarbons. \nThis requires special multi-component data processing techniques. As S-waves are more sensitive to anisotropy than P-waves and moreover display the unique feature of shear-wave birefringence (shear-wave splitting)\, it is necessary to take anisotropy into account in the processing. Such anisotropy can then be related to its causes and allow the derivation of e.g. fracture orientation and fracture density. As a marine environment does not support S-waves\, the only way to record S-waves in such an environment is with ocean bottom cables (OBC) and ocean bottom systems (OBS)\, where use is made of the generation of reflected S-wave energy at the reflectors from incident P-waves. Note that all seabed acquisition systems are necessarily multi-component systems. \nMulti-component data acquisition and the various ways of multi-component data processing will be treated and a full understanding of anisotropy will be provided. \nA case study with acquisition and processing of a real 3D nine-component seismic survey combines all aspects \nWho Should Attend\nGeophysicists and interpreters/geologists who want to familiarize themselves with all aspects multi-component seismic and be able to assess the added value of such datasets. As all seabed seismic systems are multi-component the application of this technology in a production environment (time-lapse) will only increase. The theory is based on first principles; the applications exploit the latest developments in acquisition and processing and demonstrates how multi-disciplinary teams can share information in a meaningful way \nKey Learning Points\n\nParticipants will be able to apply the commonly used multi-component processing methods and produce in the end the PP\, PS\, SP and SS datasets together with the characteristics of each of these for subsequent interpretation\nParticipants will understand anisotropy and be able to assess its consequences for seismic data processing and be able to extract the relevant anisotropy parameters and use these for subsequent interpretation\nParticipants can provide the geophysical input that is required in a multi-disciplinary team that is considering a multi-component seismic survey\n\nEndorsed by: \n \n\nFor further information of this course\, please email to info@opuskinetic.com

SUMMARY:HR Strategy for Oil & Gas
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nA recent Harvard Business Review had on its cover “Is it time to Blow Up HR”. In the journal it indicated many organisations are questioning the value that HR is contributing to their organisations. It seems that most of these questionable HR organisations spend their time in administrative and compliance related activities or in outdated HR practices from decades past. The research is clear that if HR is going to be part of the C3 of the future (CEO\, CFO and CHRO) then it needs to bring a particular set of capabilities and value to the table. CEOs know that businesses do not create value; people do. In order for Human Resources Leaders to be a player at the table creating value to the C3 and the organisation\, it needs to: \n(1) Set the people agenda – like any other function\, HR must show why the issues it addresses matter to the business and that\nit has sensible ways to manage them. \n(2) Focus on here and now – it needs to focus on issues that are here and now for the business\, not get bogged down in\nadministrative tasks or be in a position that they don’t understand the business. \n(3) Predict Outcomes – HR needs not only a deep understanding of the work place issues but more importantly it needs to\nbring first rate analytics to help their organisations make sense of their employee data and get the most out of their human\ncapital. They need to be able to predict outcomes and performance of their organizations based on their knowledge of\nculture and human capital and its fit with the work of the organisation. \n(4) Diagnosing Problems – HR needs to be in a position to pinpoint precisely why an organization might not be performing\nwell or meeting its goals. \n(5) Prescribing actions to add value – HR needs to be prepared to recommend actions that will unlock or create value\nthrough the reallocation of human capital or redesigning and aligning the organizations structures and systems in the\norganisation. \n(6) Highlight financial benefits – HR needs to move from being seen as a cost center by the business where the goal is always\ncut\, cut\, cut. Being able to quantify costs and benefits (ROI) turns talent and organisational design choices decisions into\nbusiness decisions. \nNew HR Strategies for Oil & Gas provides frameworks and tools for HR professionals in build and or increase capabilities in these six critical areas detailed above. Although these capabilities are beneficial in HR in all industries this workshop is targeted at companies in the Oil & Gas Industry. A phrase coined many years ago states that organisations are perfectly designed to get the results that they get. Therefore challenging times call for new thinking for HR in Oil & Gas. If you could choose one workshop that would make a significant difference in positioning your HR organization to create greater value for your organisation this is that workshop. \nWho Should Attend\nThis workshop is designed for job titles of relevant Organisational Leaders in HR & their business partners including:\n• Leaders charged with the responsibility for HR including human capital strategies to create a competitive advantage\nfor their organisation. \n• In HR these are generally your CHRO (Chief Human Resource Officer)\, CPO (Chief People Officer)\, VP of HR\, CLO (Chief\nLearning Officer)\, CKO (Chief Knowledge Officer)\, L&OD (Learning & Organisation Development)\, Compensation &\nBenefits VPs\, Directors\, Managers and professionals. \n• Ideally organisational leaders would accompany their HR leaders and their titles might range from CEO\, CFO\, COO\, CIO\, CTO\, VP\, Managing Directors\, Directors\, Managers and Team leaders. \nBenefits of Attending\n• Use the Organisational Systems Design (OSD) model to diagnose people problems and prescribe actions to unlock and create value \n• Identify and categorise the Oil & Gas business processes in order to create a differentiation strategy that will create unique value \n• Identify and develop high performance teams that can create a competitive advantage \n• Develop a “leadership” brand for your Oil & Gas organisation that can create a competitive advantage \n• Design key knowledge creating and sharing designs\, since most oil and gas companies compete on knowledge \n• Master the principles and tools for capturing the hearts and minds of your human capital to enhance their engagement \n• Learn methodologies on how to predict outcomes and highlight financial benefits as a way to add value to their organisations. \n  \nEndorsed by: \n \n\nFor further information of this course\, please email to info@opuskinetic.com

SUMMARY:Technical Writing for E&P Staff: A Structured Approach
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis unique workshop provides guidelines for the efficient reporting of petroleum engineering\, geological and geophysical studies. No technical project carried out within the Petroleum Industry is complete if it is not presented or reported competently. \nIt will help you to produce concise and readable management briefings\, well/study proposals\, field development plans\, operating manuals\, equity documentation and study reports. \nMost ‘communication skills’ courses are presented by individuals from outside the oil industry. This one is different. It gives practical instruction rather than theory\, and is based on the presenter’s extensive experience of reporting integrated field development studies in an International Oil Company and Consultancy environment\, as well as Board papers and legal documentation. \nIt is designed specifically for the E&P professional\, focusing on E&P documents and examples. Over two hundred and fifty individuals have attended this course\, presented as public and as ‘in-house’ workshops (for major multinationals\, state oil companies\, and consulting groups). Participants’ responses have been universally favourable. \nHigh proportion of practical work included: Bring along some of your own examples if you can\, to use in practical sessions – within only a couple of hours you will be making improvements. One-to-one sessions towards the end of the course will allow detailed discussion. \n\nBenefits of Attending\n\nWhy write reports? Four basic types – make sure you use the appropriate one.\nHow to write: report compilation using a ‘news-based’ approach.\nAnalysing objectives and developing ‘messages’: How to develop a meaningful topic outline. Using verbal presentations to help structure a report.\nTips to improve writing skills: Handling numerical data and specialist terminology. Writing effective summaries.\nOptimal use of charts\, figures\, tables and enclosures: How to select and design illustrations.\nHow to compile manuals and minutes: Making it easy!\nPractical aspects of report preparation: Type styles\, layout and arrangement. Making your reports a pleasure to read.\nManaging the reporting process: How to reduce editing time. Co-ordinating multiple authors.\nDigital documentation: Special techniques for on-screen display. Use of advanced word processing and document design features for digital distribution. E-mails.\n\nWho Should Attend\nAny E&P specialist or manager in the oil company\, consultancy/service or research sector. This is not a basic English course so you should have a reasonable command of the language. Even native speakers are surprised at how many new ideas this course contains. If relatively new to the industry you will learn that ‘commercial’ technical writing requires a non-traditional approach. Experienced team leaders or supervisors will gain additional skills to help to co-ordinate or review the reporting of multidisciplinary integrated studies. \n  \nEndorsed By: \n \nFor further information please email to info@opuskinetic.com

SUMMARY:World-Class Service Level Agreements Best Practices
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nA Service Level Agreement (SLA) is a document spelling out the terms under which a service is to be supplied or provided. The SLA defines agreed levels of service\, such as availability and extent of provision\, together with measures to be taken when service levels aren’t being met\, and any penalties that might apply in this case. By guaranteeing certain levels of service and defining the roles to be played by both parties to the contract\, an SLA helps to define the relationship between customer and supplier. It is to ensure that you have something to fall back on\, if a supplier fails to provide services\, maintenance\, or support. An SLA document sets out all the services to be provided within a supply contract\, how reliable they should be\, and what measures should be taken\, in the event of failures or unanticipated circumstances. It clearly defines the requirements and duties of both client and provider – so neither party can claim they didn’t know what it contains. Deviation from the agreed terms is grounds for legal action. \nBenefits of Attending\nDefine fully the services contracted and how reliable or available the supplier has to be: \n\nEstablish the yardsticks the service levels is to be measured against and assessed\nClarify actions that should be taken to sustain the agreed upon level of service and what are the remedial actions that can be taken should levels fall below thresholds\nDescribe any penalties that apply\, if service levels aren’t met – and the conditions under which these penalties become valid\nTrack key performance indicators\, and measurements that can be used in the absence of data\nBuild your competitive advantage with a clearly words and binding SLA\n\nWho Should Attend\nThis course is relevant for professionals who are involved in SLA\, including but not limited to: \n\nProcurement Managers/ Executives\nContract Managers/ Executives\nBusiness Account Managers/ Executives\nFinance Managers/ Executives\nIT Managers/ Executives\nService Delivery Managers/ Executives\nOutsourcing / Technical Support Directors & Managers\nService Purchasing / Procurement / Supplier or Vendor\nDirectors & Managers\nBusiness Process / Business Development Directors &\nManagers\nLegal Directors & Managers\nTechnical Support / Customer Support Managers\nProject / Planning Directors & Managers\n\nEndorsed by:

SUMMARY:Earned Value Management
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nEarned Value Management (EVM) is a project control process based on a structured approach to planning\, cost collection and performance measurement. It facilitates the integration of project scope\, time and cost objectives and the establishment of a baseline plan for performance measurement.  EVM helps by providing data to enable objective measurement of project status; providing a basis for estimating final cost; predicting when the project will be complete; supporting the effective management of resources; providing a means of managing and controlling change. It is applicable to projects of varying size\, scope and duration. \nEVM is a tool that integrates the cost\, schedule and technical requirements of a project. It requires discipline in all aspects of the project; it requires that the organization performing the tasks to plan the work and then to work to that plan. Obviously\, some problems will occur that could not be predicted and therefore will not be a part of the initial plan; however\, good planning does allow a manager to better mitigate those issues and concerns that are known. The use of EVM also helps the project manager in determining the current project status by answering questions such as: Are we on schedule? Are we on cost? Do the costs reflect the true accomplishments? What are our variances? \nBenefits Of Attending\n\nEstablish a Performance Measurement Baseline for a project\nDesign and evaluate Earned Value data collection processes for a specific project\nInterpret Earned Value data for a given scenario and make recommendations on appropriate action\nManage changes to a Performance Measurement Baseline appropriately\nAllow for risk in the planning\, execution\, and evaluation of an Earned Value project\nApply methods to review the integrity\, validity and performance of an Earned Value Management System\n\nWho Should Attend\nMDs\, VPs\, Directors\, GMs\, CFOs\, COOs\, Financial Controllers\, Heads and Senior Managers responsible for: \n\nProject Management Office (PMO)\nProject Control / Cost Control\nInternal Audit\nRisk Management\nQuality Assurance and Process Improvement\nProject / Project Planning\nProject Consultancies\nStrategic Procurement\nSite Management\nOperations\n\nEndorsed By: \n \n  \nFor further information of this course\, please email to info@opuskinetic.com
