SUMMARY:TUV PHRA Training: TÜV Rheinland FS Engineer Process Hazard and Risk Analysis
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nThis TUV PHRA training course focuses on the early lifecycle phases of hazard and risk analysis up to\, and including\, the development of the Safety Requirements Specification (SRS) for process\, oil & gas\, petrochemical and chemical industries according to IEC 61508 / IEC 61511. \nThis 5-day course comprises 4 days of classroom tuition and practical guidance\, for understanding and mastering the application\, of process hazard analysis and associated risk analysis as required for the early lifecycle phases of Edition 2 IEC 61508 & Edition 2 of IEC 61511 for SIS. We also include many fundamental topics that we know you need to understand\, but are not covered in the standards. Practical exercises will be performed throughout the course based on real-life examples. There is a 5-hour competency examination on the last day. \nWho Should Attend\nProcess Engineers\, Instrument Engineers\, Process Safety and Operations personnel who are involved in maintaining the integrity of their processes\, and are more involved in the early lifecycle phases of functional safety management. \nKey Learning Objectives\nThe topics cover the concepts of identifying hazards using tools such as What-If\, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and HAZard and OPerability (HAZOP). This will be further developed into the analysis of risk and methods of risk reduction to consider the effectiveness of preventative and mitigating layers of protection. The use of preventative safeguarding efficiencies will be introduced for use with the PHA Matrix\, along with the advantages/disadvantages of using the PHA Matrix with different Hazard Analysis methods. \nThe different questioning techniques used by a Hazard study leader to guarantee a systematic study methodology are investigated\, as is the HAZOP flowsheet design\, by considering the use of the HAZOP for specific needs such as LOPA. A LOPA exercise will actually be carried out from the output of the course HAZOP exercise. Consideration of constructing effective nodes will be examined and a better definition will be given to claims of double jeopardy. \nThe TUV PHRA training will introduce participants to the use of Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) and SIL determination using internationally agreed methods for assessing and quantifying process risk and risk reduction requirements. Delegates will be equipped with the knowledge and methods for undertaking various types of qualitative\, semi-quantified and quantitative risk assessments. \nPractical exercises will be carried out for Semi-Quantitative methods such as risk graph and LOPA. The shortfalls of the quicker methods will be investigated to allow the analyst to appreciate the limitations of screening tools. The most popular semi quantified method\, Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA)\, will be explored in depth. \nThe effective use of Event Tree Analysis will be looked at in two different forms (Mitigation ETA and Traditional ETA). The TUV PHRA training will focus on how ETA can be used to qualitatively support the analyst in mapping out the various consequences given various events with safeguard success or failure. Analysts can then select those events which generate consequences of interest for which FTA may be required. \nDelegates will also be taken through the requirements for safety management and the framework of a Safety Management System (SMS) for achieving effective process risk management. Best practice for SMS will be investigated with the use of Bow-ties linking the Hazard and its safeguards to the SMS. An insight into how process safety KPIs can be used to better align engineering and management in the prevention of major accident hazards will be covered. \nPartnership\n\n\n\nTUV Rheinland Singapore was founded in 1989 and has been serving the testing and certification needs of Singapore companies for over 20 years. In 2006\, our electrical lab was expanded to fully cover Household\, IT and audio video equipment testing acd to IEC/EN standards. In 2007 we achieved accreditation Singapore Accreditation Council for our certification department. In 2009\, we were recognized as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) by SPRING Singapore\, which enables us to issue the Singapore safety mark to goods that are controlled by the government. Currently we offer Product Safety Testing and Certification\, Management Systems Certification\, Training\, CDM and Third party Inspections for Industrial projects. \n\n\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n PhoneThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.SalutationMr.Ms.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.-Name(Required)\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Phone(Required)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Country\n \n \n \n \n Phone Number\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Company(Required)Current Location(Required) \n \n \n AfghanistanÅland IslandsAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCôte d'IvoireCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRéunionRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTürkiyeTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUS Minor Outlying IslandsUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabwe\n Country\n \n \n How many people are you looking at?1 - 2 Standard Rates3 - 5 Group Discount>10 In-House Training\, Huge Savings!Undecided\, need more informationThis is just an approximate number. SUMMARY:HAZOP Training: Hazard Studies and HAZOP Team Leader
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nThis is a 3-day HAZOP training course. HAZOP and Hazard studies are an essential part of effective process safety management and HSE risk management. This course covers various process hazard assessment (PHA) techniques that team leaders must understand and be able to apply as well as facilitation skills required to manage successful hazard study meetings.\n \nThese techniques apply to all industry sectors including oil & gas\, petrochemicals\, chemicals\, pharmaceuticals\, and utilities\, both on new projects and on existing operating plants. Each hazard study technique aligns with a project stage and the needs of the level of project development at that stage.\n \nThe course consists of a series of modules that deal with the different hazard study stages and techniques and related process safety concepts and facilitation topics. Presentations are interactive with video illustrations and case studies. Group exercises are used for the different techniques (including\, inherent safety\, HAZID\, HAZOP and procedural HAZOP)\, to enable attendees to put into practice what they have learnt during the lecture presentations.\n \nThe HAZOP training course is intended to be an open course using generic (non-proprietary) examples and case studies but can be adapted with site specific case studies if available. \nWho Should Attend\nThe HAZOP training course is designed for participants who are expected to lead HAZOPs and already have some experience as HAZOP team members. It is also appropriate for regular team members who wish to develop their HAZOP and PHA skills further by hazard. \nTypical attendees would be: \n\nProcess Safety Engineers\nTechnical Safety Engineers\nProcess Design Engineers\nLoss Prevention Engineers\nTechnical Safety Managers\nProcess Safety Managers\nProcess Safety Advisers and Specialist\nTechnical Safety Advisers and Specialist\nTechnical Safety Authorities\nSafety/HSE Managers\nProcess Safety Consultants\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n InstagramThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.SalutationMr.Ms.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.-Name(Required)\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Phone(Required)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Country\n \n \n \n \n Phone Number\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Company(Required)Current Location(Required) \n \n \n AfghanistanÅland IslandsAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCôte d'IvoireCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRéunionRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTürkiyeTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUS Minor Outlying IslandsUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabwe\n Country\n \n \n How many people are you looking at?1 - 2 Standard Rates3 - 5 Group Discount>10 In-House Training\, Huge Savings!Undecided\, need more informationThis is just an approximate number. SUMMARY:LOPA and SIL Determination
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nThis is a 3-days LOPA and SIL training course. Layer of protection analysis (LOPA) is a semi-quantitative\, order of magnitude\, tool for analysing and assessing risk on a process plant used to evaluate the adequacy of existing or proposed controls (layers of protection) against known hazards to achieve tolerable risk criteria. The course covers the different LOPA methodology variations\, single cause\, multiple cause\, simple and complex applications. The most common use of the LOPA technique is for Safety Integrity Levels (SILs) be determined for Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs) and this is covered in detail\, but non-SIF applications are also coved. \n\nThe LOPA and SIL training course will give you an understanding of the methodology\, application\, and limitations of LOPA. It will help you understand how to select and assess hazardous scenarios by applying the LOPA methodology\, and hv ow to interpret and apply the results including specifying the SIL of a SIF. The course references the CCPS books on LOPA and the latest international standard IEC 61511. At the end of this course the trainee will be able to be an active participant and contributor to LOPA and SIL determination studies.\n \nThe course consists of a series of modules that deal with the different technical aspects of LOPA. Presentations are interactive with video illustrations and case studies. Group exercises are used to enable attendees to put into practice what they have learnt during the lecture presentations. All the essential LOPA steps are practiced in exercises\, the main exercise takes a HAZOP worksheet and builds the LOPA from it.\n \nThe LOPA and SIL training course is intended to be an open course using generic examples and simple spreadsheets / calculations not tied to any proprietary software. The case studies but can be adapted with site specific case studies if available. \nWho Should Attend\nThe LOPA and SIL training course is designed for participants who need to attend and actively contribute to LOPA/SIL studies. SUMMARY:Advanced Maintenance and Reliability Management
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nThis is a 3-day in-person maintenance and reliability training course. The effective maintenance management within chemical plants is a critical feature of plant operation\, both in establishing the conditions for safe ongoing operation of the plant after commissioning\, and in supporting the commercial success of the business. Many companies focus on the cost of the maintenance organisation\, rather than on the benefits that they can provide\, and in doing so the real potential for maintenance organisations to make significant contributions to business success are often lost. Ultimately\, and assuming that the commercial department is able to sell the product that is produced\, the contribution of a maintenance organisation can most effectively be measured in terms of its ability to generate sustained improvements with time in the total (fixed and variable) cost per unit volume of production. There are a number of drivers which tend to increase the cost of production; certain types of equipment become unreliable with time\, obsolescence is often an issue\, environmental and safety standards are continuing to tighten\, and so on. \nOf course\, there are many tools and techniques that are available to help. This maintenance and reliability training focuses on techniques such as Risk Based Inspection\, Reliability Centred Maintenance\, and Total Productive Maintenance can all add value if they are used appropriately\, but it is important to remember that the long term aim of plant maintenance is to deliver sustained and continuous reduction in the cost per unit of production\, a point often lost in the mounds of paperwork that can be generated by some of the tools that are provided to help the maintenance engineer in his decision making! It is worth remembering that any debate or decision within the maintenance organisation which does not concern the selection or delivery of maintenance task is unlikely to contribute to improving the overall performance of the business. \nWho Should Attend\n\nAll plant engineers engaged in maintenance\, turnarounds and minor projects\nAll personnel in design\, project management and turnarounds\nPlant financial staff who have to approve projects\nPlant maintenance managers\nProject personnel\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nEnhancing your companies Maintenance and Operations SUMMARY:Geological Storage of CO2: Pick the Right Reservoir
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nGeological Storage of CO2\, specifically the geological sequestration of CO2\, is increasingly recognized as a key strategy for achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in the fight against global warming. In recent years\, the field has seen significant advancements. While many of the underlying technologies draw from oil and gas operations\, important distinctions exist that necessitate adapting the industry’s subsurface expertise to this new application. \nEvery CO2 storage project must answer four fundamental questions: \n\nWhere can CO2 be stored?\nHow much CO2 can be injected?\nCan it be stored safely?\nCan it be stored economically?\n\nThis CO2 geological storage training will explore these questions by leveraging established practices from the oil and gas sector and modifying traditional engineering design principles to meet the unique challenges of CO2 storage. \nWe are also a proud member of the Energy Institute of UK. \nWho Should Attend\n\nGeologist\nReservoir engineer\nPetroleum engineer\nProduction engineer\nCompletion engineer\nBusiness development manager\nAsset manager\nProject manager\nGovernment official\nAny other professional involved or interested in CCS\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nCurrent state-of the-art of research in the field of CCS; screening of CCS projects worldwide\nFundamentals of CCS\, its interdisciplinary connections and the ability to appraise the role of CCS more widely within the energy transition\nAssessing the storage volume capacity by investigating the combined effects of capillary pressure\, salinity\, and in-situ thermodynamic conditions on CO2-brine/reservoir fluid-rock interactions in a saline aquifer or depleted reservoir\nAddressing the potential CO2 leakage paths; SUMMARY:ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Fundamentals Specialist (IC32)
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nThis is a 4-day ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Fundamentals Specialist training course. \nThe ISA/IEC 62443 standards define requirements and procedures for implementing electronically secure automation and control systems and security practices\, and assessing electronic security performance. The cybersecurity standards\, and the resulting training\, certification\, and certificate programs\, cover the complete lifecycle of cybersecurity protection. Developed by a cross-section of international cybersecurity subject-matter experts from industry\, government\, and academia\, the evolving standards represent a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity\, bridging the gap between operations technology and information technology. \nCOVID-19 is Spreading More than just One Kind of Virus. Hackers have set up ‘coronavirus map’ websites containing malware to steal information from companies. Coronavirus-themed malicious emails targeting users in Japan\, Italy\, and other parts of the world have been spreading a variety of malware. Hence it is more than crucial to attend courses. \nThe move to using open standards such as Ethernet\, TCP/IP\, and web technologies in supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and process control networks has begun to expose these systems to the same cyberattacks that have wreaked so much havoc on corporate information systems. This ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Fundamentals Specialist course provides a detailed look at how the ANSI/ISA99 standards can be used to protect your critical control systems. It also explores the procedural and technical differences between the security for traditional IT environments and those solutions appropriate for SCADA or plant floor environments. \nWho Should Attend\nThis new ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Fundamentals Specialist certificate program is designed for professionals involved in IT and control system security roles that need to develop a command of industrial cybersecurity terminology and understanding of the material embedded in the ISA99 standards. \nISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity certificates are awarded to those who successfully complete a designated Cybersecurity IEC 62443 training program and pass a multiple choice exam. \nKey Learning Objectives\nYou will be able to: \n\nDiscuss the principles behind creating an effective long term program security\nInterpret the ISA/IEC 62443 industrial security framework and apply them to your operation\nDefine the basics of risk and vulnerability analysis methodologies\nDescribe the principles of security policy development\nExplain the concepts of defense in depth and zone/conduit models of security\nAnalyze the current trends in industrial security incidents and methods hackers use to attack a system\nDefine the principles behind the key risk mitigation techniques\, including anti-virus and patch management\, firewalls\, and virtual private networks\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n SUMMARY:LNG Charter Party
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nDuring the early days of the industry\, liquefied natural gas (LNG) was carried almost exclusively under time charter terms and conditions. Originally\, the majority of LNG was sold by the producers under Long Term DES (Delivery Ex Ship) sale and purchase agreements\, with ships chartered under long term time charters by the producers. \nRecently\, there has been a move towards shorter-term contracts and FOB sales resulting in a spot market beginning to develop\, with spot LNG cargoes being carried on trip time charter terms. BIMCO and GIIGNL have developed this new voyage charter party to allow greater flexibility and meet the needs of owners and charterers in the LNG sector. \nThis LNG charter party training will provide both an overview and in-depth look into the various clauses of a LNG charter party and issues which need to be addressed during the negotiation stage and what pitfalls to avoid. \nThe participants with gain valuable insights into the actual workings of a charter party in the LNG trade and to pre-empt and identify the uncertainties and how best to deal with them. Time and voyage charter parties will be reviewed in detail and the participants will be made to appreciate the differences between them and to know which would be appropriate for any particular voyage. \nLastly\, the LNG charter party training course will also deal with charter party disputes and how best to effectively manage them. \nWho Should Attend\nThis LNG charter party training is highly recommended for those in the LNG industry\, most staff in LNG shipping companies\, chartering and trading companies. It is particularly useful for staff involved in day to day shipping operations or administration of LNG Charters. \n\nShip Owners\nShip Charterers\nFreight Forwarders\nShip Brokers\nShipping Agencies\nMarine Insurers\nLegal Advisors\nMaritime Lawyers\n\nKey Learning Objectives\nCapitalize on the expert knowledge of the trainer to gain maximum value on key issues relating to LNG Charter Party\ncontracts: \n• UNDERSTAND the different types of Charter Parties\n• ACQUIRE the ability to evaluate the risk allocation in a LNG Charter Party\n• UNDERSTAND the rights and obligations of Owner and Charterer\n• OBTAIN an understanding of Charter party clauses\n• GAIN an ability to negotiate\, evaluate\, agree on terms of the charter\n• ATTAIN thorough knowledge of the risks and liabilities involved in an LNG Charter\n• MASTER the understanding of dispute resolution and the tools required to properly bring\, defend and avoid disputes \nEnquiry Form\n\n \n NameThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.SalutationMr.Ms.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.-Name(Required)\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Phone(Required)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Country\n \n \n \n \n Phone Number\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Company(Required)Current Location(Required) \n \n \n AfghanistanÅland IslandsAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCôte d'IvoireCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRéunionRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTürkiyeTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUS Minor Outlying IslandsUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabwe\n Country\n \n \n How many people are you looking at?1 - 2 Standard Rates3 - 5 Group Discount>10 In-House Training\, Huge Savings!Undecided\, need more informationThis is just an approximate number. SUMMARY:Human Factors Safety Critical Task Analysis (SCTA)
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nHuman Factors is recognized as a key topic for addressing safety in the oil\, gas\, onshore chemical plants\, pharmaceutical manufacturing and power generation sectors. \nWhat is Safety Critical Task Analysis (SCTA)?\nTask Analysis refers to the study of what actions and mental processes a person needs to perform to achieve a goal (Kirwan and Ainsworth). It often breaks down tasks into smaller subtasks to describe how they are done. \nSafety Critical Task Analysis (SCTA)\, on the other hand\, focuses on tasks that are critical to preventing major accidents. These are tasks where human factors can contribute to\, cause\, or fail to mitigate a major accident. \nDefinition of a Safety Critical Task (SCT):\nAn SCT is any task where human error could: \n\nCause or contribute to a major accident\nFail to prevent or mitigate one\n\nSCTs occur in various operational contexts\, such as: \n\nOperational tasks: e.g.\, loading liquid petroleum gas (LPG)\, sampling hazardous substances\, or isolating piping/equipment.\nPrevention and detection: e.g.\, testing safety systems or overriding safety functions.\nControl and mitigation: e.g.\, testing pressure safety valves or firewater pumps.\nEmergency response: e.g.\, deploying firefighting equipment or launching lifeboats.\n\nA “major accident” refers to an event like a large emission\, fire\, or explosion that poses serious risks to health or the environment\, as defined by the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations. \nSCTA Process\n\nIdentify Safety Critical Tasks: Determine which tasks are critical to safety.\nPrioritize SCTs for Analysis: Decide which tasks need deeper analysis.\nAnalyze Human Actions: Study which human actions or inactions could lead to failure.\nInstall Layers of Protection: Develop safeguards to reduce human error or its consequences.\n\nSCTA is often conducted during project design or safety updates\, but it’s increasingly embedded into operations as an ongoing activity\, especially when tasks and equipment change. \nImportance of Embedding SCTA in Operations\nFor large-scale operations\, getting specialist input at every site may not be practical. Therefore\, companies are building SCTA knowledge within their workforce\, especially at the management and supervisory levels. This approach improves: \n\nRisk assessment quality\nIncident investigations\nImprovement suggestions\n\nSCTA also supports better maintenance and safety culture by giving personnel a structured way to examine their procedures. This can reveal key barriers to safety and the steps necessary to protect them. \nPerformance Influencing Factors (PIFs)\nA key element of SCTA is understanding PIFs. These factors can either strengthen or degrade safety barriers. Personnel who are familiar with these factors can: \n\nRecognize when safeguards are failing\nUnderstand how human performance impacts safety\n\nBenefits of SCTA\nA well-executed SCTA program can lead to: \n\nImproved major accident hazard (MAH) safety performance\nFewer environmental incidents\nReduced production downtime\nImproved quality\nCost reduction in major projects\n\nIn summary\, SCTA is a powerful tool for analyzing human factors in safety-critical tasks\, helping to prevent major accidents and improve safety performance across industries. \nWho Should Attend\n\nPlant Managers\nProcess Safety specialists\nProcess plant designers\nSupervisors\nSenior process operators\nProcedures and training developers\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nUnderstand Human Factors and SCTA\nUnderstand the different types of human error that need to be addressed within process safety\nBe able to use techniques such as Hierarchical Task Analysis\, Human Failure and Consequence analyses\, and Performance Influencing Factors evaluations  for simple tasks\nBe able to develop risk-informed procedures and competency standards based on the results of the SCTA work\nStart to think about developing policies and a programme of work using SCTA to address human factors in process safety\, with particular emphasis on satisfying regulatory requirements such as COMAH\n\nEnquiry SUMMARY:Advanced Basin Analysis Masterclass
DESCRIPTION:Why Choose this Training Course\nThis 3-day advanced case-study led basin analysis training course is designed to teach participants a process for rapidly screening frontier basin opportunities with minimal data\, with case studies from across the world\, including many African\, Atlantic and South-East Asian Basins. \nThe modules cover the essentials of basin classification and tectonostratigraphic analysis\, the prediction of petroleum system elements (reservoir\, source rocks and seals) and the presentation of a workflow with which the prospects of a basin can be rapidly assessed. The most recent world’s frontier discoveries are reviewed in their basin context and key elements are recognised that will identify the frontier discoveries of the future. The lectures are interspersed with numerous case studies analysing the regional controls on the main global discoveries of the last decade\, some of which will be run as group discussions and guided exercises. This will expand the participants’ knowledge bank of key analogues that can be used to identify and risk new plays in their own regions of interest. \nWho Should Attend\nGeologists and geophysicists or exploration managers that are involved in the assessment of new exploration opportunities and new country entry\, particularly if working on rifts and or passive margins. The basin analysis training course contents are on intermediate/advanced level and a basic knowledge of petroleum geology and in particular of petroleum systems is required. \nPotential attendees include: \n\nBasin Management & Analyst\nExploration & Development Department\nGeologists\nGeophysicists\nGeoscientists\nPetroleum Engineers\nReservoir Engineers\nDrilling Engineers\nRisk Management\nResearch & Development\nProject Support & Services\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nParticipants will learn how to rapidly differentiate prospective from non-prospective basins using series of key\ntools and techniques\, even in situations where they have limited data and knowledge.\nParticipants will learn how to rapidly compile many key diagrams within a workflow that synthesises the key tectonic and other basin-wide controls on prospectivity.\nThey will learn how to research and apply appropriate analogue basins to their individual areas of interest from around the world\nThey will acquire check-lists of the parameters which most frequently cause basins to succeed or fail\, that they will be able to use in data rooms and in the assessment of license or farming blocks.\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n LinkedInThis field is for validation purposes and should be left
