SUMMARY:Advanced Maintenance Management
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThe effective Maintenance management within chemical plants is a critical feature of plant operation\, both in establishing the conditions for safe ongoing operation of the plant after commissioning\, and in supporting the commercial success of the business. \nMany companies focus on the cost of the maintenance organisation\, rather than on the benefits that they can provide\, and in so doing the real potential for maintenance organisations to make significant contributions to business success are often lost. Ultimately\, and assuming that the commercial department is able to sell the product that is produced\, the contribution of a maintenance organisation can most effectively be measured in terms of its ability to generate sustained improvements with time in the total (fixed and variable) cost per unit volume of production. There are a number of drivers which tend to increase the cost of production; certain types of equipment become unreliable with time\, obsolescence is often an issue\, environmental and safety standards are continuing to tighten\, and so on. \nOf course\, there are many tools and techniques that are available to help. Techniques such as Risk Based Inspection\, Reliability Centred Maintenance\, and Total Productive Maintenance can all add value if they are used appropriately\, but it is important to remember that the long term aim of plant maintenance is to deliver sustained and continuous reduction in the cost per unit of production\, a point often lost in the mounds of paperwork that can be generated by some of the tools that are provided to help the maintenance engineer in his decision making! It is worth remembering that any debate or decision within the maintenance organisation which does not concern the selection or delivery of maintenance task is unlikely to contribute to improving the overall performance of the business.  \nWho Should Attend\nThis workshop is designed to be beneficial to all individuals who are involved in the planning\, preparation\, execution and commissioning of plants during and following a turnaround. It is especially useful to managers\, engineers\, operations\, planners\, schedulers\, logistics coordinators\, cost managers and supervisors. It would also be of use to safety officers\, inspection and engineering personnel in order to increase their level of awareness of the workings of turnaround management. \nKey Learning Objectives\n\nImprove your company’s approach to planning and scheduling\n\nProvide a framework for effective turnaround execution\n\nHighlight the unique safety requirements of turnarounds\n\nFoster the “one team” approach to turnarounds\nProvide a comprehensive knowledge base for turnarounds\n\nDemonstrate the latest planning techniques for turnarounds\n\nHighlighting the operational check out and startup requirements\n\nLearn the conditions for acceptance of the plant by plant operations personnel\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Oil and Gas Agreements: Effective Legal Negotiation and Dispute Resolution
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nTension will arise between the parties to a contract\, particularly with a contract which involves multiple interactions between the parties over time\, and it is inevitable that such tension will lead to disputes and difference that need to be resolved as part of the contract process. This is particularly the case with oil and gas contracts. The workshop will introduce delegates to the reasons why disputes and differences arise under various types of oil and gas contracts\, what might be done to reduce the likelihood of them arising\, and what might be done to resolve them when they do arise. \nDelegates will also be introduced to the concept of trust\, the role trust plays in the life-cycle of a contract\, the feedback cycle and the resolution of disputes and differences and why it is that a party honours its obligations liabilities under a contract. They will also consider the “shadow of the law” that relates to contracts and touch on the concepts of good faith and ethicality. Delegates will also be introduced to various processes that may be called upon to assist in the resolution of disputes and differences once they have arisen\, including: \n\nnegotiation\nmediation\n\nexpert determination\n\narbitration\n\nlitigation\n\nAttention will be given to the effect these processes have on the maintenance of trust and the relationship between the various stakeholders in the contract relationship.Finally\, delegates will be introduced to processes they could implant into the contract framework which are aimed at building trust and reducing the tension that leads to disputes and difference. Attention will be given to processes that make positive use of the contract framework to shape the behaviour of the parties and their respective stakeholders. To facilitate the discussion of why disputes and differences arise under contracts\, the role of trust\, the various processes that may be called upon to assist in the resolution of disputes and diff erences\, and the processes that might be implanted in contracts\, delegates will participate in a number of simulation exercises and the debriefing of them and in the review of a number of case studies.\n \nWho Should Attend\n\nThose involved in procurement\n\nThose involved in contract negotiation\n\nThose involved in the negotiation process\n\nLawyers in oil and gas sectors\n*There are no pre-reading required\, delegates may be required to read some of the simulation exercise materials in the evenings to be prepared to participate in the simulation exercises the next day.\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nThe life-cycle of a contract: planning\, procuring\, managing\, termination and review\n\nThe feedback cycle that takes place during the management of a contract: learning\, adapting\, adjusting\, and reconfiguring or termination\nThe contract relationships: the stakeholders\n\nIndividual\, group and organisational behavioural and psychological factors and the role they play in the\nfeedback cycle and the management of a contract\n\nHow a contract can shape behaviour: individual\, group and organisational behaviour\n\nIncomplete contracts\n\nTrust\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Advanced Practical Centrifugal Pump
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nCentrifugal pumps are usually used in the Oil and Gas industry to mix and handle oilfield fluids. The rotary motion combined with a shaped pump housing creates centrifugal force to discharge fluids from the pumps. These pumps operate efficiently in high-volume\, low-output-pressure conditions. Centrifugal pumps are energy efficient as well as\nprovide high flow rates. However even if the low cost centrifugal pump does help improve profit margins they should be well maintained and should be used in parts of the transporting process that would maximise its efficiency as they are not as effective when dealing with viscous liquids. \nWho Should Attend\n\nMaintenance & operation engineers\nPump application engineers\n\nPump sales engineers\n\nProject & construction engineers\n\nPlant engineers\n\nProcess engineers and designers\n\nEngineering consultants\n\nMechanical engineers\n\nSystem designers\n\nCivil engineers\nRotating equipment engineers\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nReview of the pump design characteristics\, configuration and applications\nUnderstanding affinity rules and size scaling\n\nLearning the principal considerations appropriate to specific production or process requirements\nfor pump selection\n\nGain an understanding of main geometry factors that affect pump performance and efficiency\n\nReview pump cavitation phenomenon and the options for preventing or correcting a cavitation problem\n\nUnderstanding rotodynamic stability of pumps and vibration\n\nLearning the differences between pump operation point VS B.E.P. and impact on reliability\n\nGuidance on how to go about performing a field or on-site pump performance test.\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Enhanced Assessment on Money Laundering And Terrorism Financing (ML/TF) Risks
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nFATF Recommendations and domestic legislation require financial institutions and their supervisors to identify\, assess and understand the ML and TF risks they face and to take effective actions to mitigate those risks. The purpose of these requirements is to focus AML strategies and compliance efforts where the risks are higher\, and at the same time\, to manage more effectively the costs of compliance and to reduce the firm’s exposure to ML and TF risks. \nML and TF risks can be quite diversified and complex as ML and TF techniques continuously evolve\, and their identification and mitigation could be challenging for firms. The costs of compliance are increasing\, and so is the risk of sanctions by supervisors for failure to comply effectively with AML/CFT requirements. International banks are setting the bar high for AML/CFT compliance to establish correspondent banking relationships.\n \nIn light of these challenges\, this course aims at providing participants with operational knowledge for identifying and assessing ML and TF risks\, acquiring information on the latest ML and TF trends\, and understanding the best practices in creating strategies and setting up effective risk-based compliance systems that is compliant with both FATF Recommendations and other international best practices. \nWho Should Attend\nPrincipals especially those working in the Financial Industry including both the public sector (financial regulators and supervisors) and private sector (such as Banking\, Insurance\, and Securities) are encouraged and shall benefit by attending this course. \nA list of POTENTIAL ATTENDEES\, but not exhaustive\, is laid out below as follow: \n\nFinancial Transaction Regulators / Supervisors\nFinancial Intelligence Managers/Analysts\n\nPolicy Makers\n\nFinancial Institution Directors\n\nFinancial Institution (Senior) Vice Presidents\n\nAML/CFT Policy Analyst\n\nAML/CFT Compliance Analyst\n\nCompliance Manager\n\nCompliance Auditors\n\nRelationship Managers\n\nRisk Managers\n\nPrivate Equity Professionals\nFinancial Lawyers\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nLEARN the latest trends of ML and TF\n\nACQUIRE practical yet effective strategies for identifying and assessing ML and TF risks\n\nUNDERSTAND ML and TF risks\n\nMITIGATE money laundering and terrorist financing risks based on risk-based approach (RBA)\nENSURE that the AML/CFT regime is adequate to address such risks\nSTRENGTHEN compliance oversight on AML/ CFT policies and coordination\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Understanding Joint Ventures from a non-operator Perspective
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nAs the international oil and gas industry continues to operate under increasingly diverse challenges such as ultra-deep water drilling; ever more remote and harsher environments and the need to satisfy local content provisions\, the joint venture continues to prove to be one of the most robust vehicles for sharing risk; acquiring access to ‘new’ hydrocarbon resources and reserves\, acquisition of new technology and partnering with National Oil Companies (NOC’s). Coupled with this\, organizations face the enormous challenges of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and stakeholder management. The Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) is the instrument\, by which the contractual provisions dealing with investment and returns; control and liabilities\, operational activities\, as well as the actions to be pursued in the event of a dispute are structured. One of the most critical and central aspects of the JVA is that of the rights; duties and obligations of the party appointed as Operator and the ramifications that this has for the partners who are Non-Operators. Management policies and procedures\, the equity of representation from partners and the effective control of daily operations are all critical components reflecting both the importance and the complexity of the modern Joint Venture. \nWho Should Attend\n\nIndividuals involved with strategy and planning\nCommercial decision makers\nProject managers and key project personnel\nLegal personnel/contract managers/contract engineers\nIndividuals involved with local content compliance and corporate social responsibility\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nUnderstand the broader underpinning framework that supports the rationale for the JV being a vehicle of choice in terms of operating within government expectations and licensing\nPossess an enhanced knowledge of how a Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) operates\nGrasp the different forms that a JV might take and what this means for parties that are non-operators\nGain an in depth understanding of the intricacies of the JV from the perspective of the roles of both the Operator and Non-Operator\nUnderstand the role played by and the powers of the Joint Operating Committee\nPossess a sound grasp of some of the key legal issues that will impact upon the JV and what they mean\nBecome knowledgeable and familiar with the mechanics and operations of ‘farming in’ and ‘farming out’\nRecognise the importance of dispute resolution mechanisms and understand the function of the arbitral clause in a contract\nGrasp the vital importance of corporate social responsibility and what this may mean for JV operations\nUnderstand what is meant by ‘abandonment’ or decommissioning securities and have awareness of what this means to a JV\n\nEnquiry form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Geophysical Data Management For Non-Geophysicist
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nExploration and Production (E&P) companies realize the importance of good technical data and the role which it plays in the exploration success. Geoscientists and engineers focus on maximizing hydrocarbon extraction by understanding and exploiting field geological and formations data. To achieve their challenging goals\, they use sophisticated software to perform virtual field characterizations and analysis which generates terabytes of valuable intellectual data and information. This is one example\, and there are many more by which new data is being generated and stored each day. Companies are investing into hardware and software to tackle these problems but lack the basic guide lines or policies to manage the growing data volume. This has led to even more problems and waste of valuable resources and funds. One of the key requirements for E&P companies is to have a well-defined data management strategy. \nWho Should Attend\n\nUpstream personnel\nIT\nAdmin\nHR\nNon-geoscience personnel\n* There are no technical prerequisites for this course besides having more than 3 years’ work experience and a higher education diploma\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nWhat is Data Management life cycle\, why it is important\, understanding Data Acquisitions in terms of\nexploration\, production and life of field\nThe core Geophysical data types in the E&P industry and valuable best practices for them\nCommon seismic activity using Gulf of Mexico as a case study\nThe importance of frequency in data and learning about spectral analysis\nUsing Data analytics (big data\, the cloud\, Business Intelligence maturity modelling) in the Oil and Gas industry\nGeophysical limitation and challenges\nBeing familiar with industry data standards\n\nEnquiry form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Incident Investigation Techniques and SCAT Training
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nMost if not all accidents stem from the shortcomings in an organisation. Unless consistent effort and measures are put into discovering these inadequacies\, there would be more severe accidents waiting to happen. One method to discover these inefficiencies would be through incident investigations. Such investigations help to establish the immediate cause of the incident as well as the systemic failures within the organisation that led up to it. Through thorough investigation\, we are able to identify the areas of individual or organizational practices to ensure a safer work environment. \nWho Should Attend\n\nManagers\nHSE professionals\nSafety engineers\nProcess engineer who may be required to support an incident investigation\n\nKey Learning Objectives\n\nUnderstand the key feature of Process Safety Incident Investigations\nGain a basic understanding of the most important aspects of any incident investigation\nDevelop experience in applying the SCAT methodology to incident investigations\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Petroleum Geology of the South and Central Atlantic
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis advanced practical course teaches the essentials of play fairway common risk segment mapping a technique now routinely applied in the most successful oil companies to focus on opportunities most worthy of investment and most likely to deliver success. The early parts of the course focus on how to synthesize data on the key risks affecting exploration so that key observations and interpretations can be synthesized in the drawing of play fairway maps. The second\, more practical\, portion of the course includes exercises in drawing and integrating common risk segment maps\, all based on a real frontier licence round situation and on ‘cheap’ public domain data. This is then fed through to a licence round recommendation and to a yet-to-find analysis. Participants may use their own companies colour schemes for play fairway analysis or may adopt a scheme used by the presenter. \nWho Should Attend\nGeologists and geophysicists or exploration managers that are involved in the assessment of new exploration opportunities and new country entry. This is an advanced level course and a basic knowledge of petroleum geology and in particular of petroleum systems is required. It would be helpful\, but not vital\, if participants have attended ‘Advanced Basin Analysis’\, a course that immediately percedes this one. \n\nGeologists\nGeophysicists\nGeoscientists\nExploration Managers\nExploration & Development Department\n\nKey Learning Points\n\nLearn how to rapidly synthesize a regional database into a suite of ocloured ‘Common Risk Segment’ maps to use these to identify the regions and blocks of highest potential in any basin. \nLearn how to save their companies millions of dollars in data acquisition costs by rapidly focusing on the most prospective parts of basins unsing public domain data.\nLearn how to deal with both risk and uncertainity and be able to cope with both good and poor datasets. \nLearn a methodology for rapidly screening acreage so as to respond to short term datelines such as license rounds.\nLearn how to extend the play fairway analysis into a ‘yet to find’ analysis assessing the remaining reserves in any basin\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA

SUMMARY:Advanced Basin Analysis (Africa)
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThis advanced case-study led course is designed to teach participants a process for rapidly screening frontier basin opportunities with minimal data\, with most case studies from African and Atlantic style rifts and passive margins. Three day modules cover the essentials of basin classification and tectonostratigraphic analysis\, the prediction of petroleum system elements (reservoir\, source rocks and seals) and the presentation of a workflow with which the prospects of a basin can be rapidly assessed. The most recent world’s frontier discoveries are reviewed in their basin context and key elements are recognised that will identify the frontier discoveries of the future. The lectures are interspersed with numerous case studies analysing the regional controls on the main global discoveries of the last decade\, some of which will be run as group discussions and guided exercises. This will expand the participants’ knowledge bank of key analogues that can be used to identify and risk new plays in their own regions of interest. \nWho Should Attend\nGeologists and geophysicists or exploration managers that are involved in the assessment of new exploration opportunities and new country entry\, particularly if working on rifts and or passive margins such as Atlantic margin\nbasins. The course contents are on intermediate/advanced level and a basic knowledge of petroleum geology and\nin particular of petroleum systems is required. \n\nBasin Management & Analyst\nExploration & Development Department\nGeologists\nGeophysicists\nGeoscientists\nPetroleum Engineers\nReservoir Engineers\nDrilling Engineers\nRisk Management\nResearch & Development\nProject Support & Services\n\nKey Learning Points\n\nParticipants will learn how to rapidly differentiate prospective from non-prospective basins using a series of key tools and techniques\, even in situations where they have limited data and knowledge.\nParticipants will learn how to rapidly compile a number of key diagrams within a workflow that synthesises the key tectonic and other basin-wide controls on prospectivity.\nThey will particularly learn the essentials of working petroleum systems in Africa and in the Central and South Atlantic\nThey will acquire check-lists of the parameters which most frequently cause basins to succeed or fail\, that they will be able to use in data rooms and in the assessment of licence or farming blocks.\n\nEnquiry Form\n\n \n \n SalutationMr.Miss.Mrs.Mdm.Dr.Prof.Capt.Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n PhoneEmail\n \n CompanyAdditional Comments:CAPTCHA
