This GHG management training equips participants with the practical knowledge and tools to measure, calculate, manage and report organisational greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3.

Participants will work through practical exercises covering organisational boundaries, emissions-source identification, activity data, emission factors, carbon calculations, Scope 3 screening, data quality and GHG inventory development. The programme then moves beyond measurement to examine how carbon data supports decarbonisation strategies, corporate decision-making and sustainability/climate reporting.

As organisations face increasing pressure to measure, manage and disclose their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, carbon accounting has evolved from a sustainability exercise into a critical business, risk and reporting capability. Companies are increasingly expected to understand not only their direct emissions, but also the carbon impact associated with purchased energy, suppliers, logistics, procurement and the wider value chain.

This intensive 2-day Advanced Carbon Accounting & GHG Management training provides participants with a practical understanding of how to identify, calculate, manage and report Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 GHG emissions. Drawing on internationally recognised frameworks including the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1, the programme takes participants through the complete carbon accounting process — from establishing organisational boundaries and identifying emission sources to collecting activity data, applying emission factors and developing a credible corporate GHG inventory.

Particular emphasis is placed on Scope 3 emissions and value-chain carbon management, one of the most challenging areas for organisations today. Participants will explore the 15 Scope 3 categories, different calculation methodologies, supplier data challenges and approaches for improving the quality and reliability of value-chain emissions information.

Moving beyond measurement, the masterclass demonstrates how GHG data can be transformed into meaningful management action. Participants will learn how to identify carbon hotspots, establish emissions baselines and reduction priorities, engage suppliers, support decarbonisation initiatives and strengthen climate and sustainability disclosures.

Through practical calculations, case studies and a hands-on GHG inventory exercise, participants will leave the programme better equipped to turn carbon data into credible reporting, stronger decision-making and actionable emissions-reduction strategies.
